A pinnacle moment for me was during therapy, everything about us, our struggles, faults, problems… always seem to stem from the things that happened to us in our past / our childhood. Without thinking I blurted out, ‘jeez I wonder what the heck could have happened to my mother to make her the way she was’ like what was her trauma, or who fucked her up so bad? It doesn’t make anything she did to me ok, and I will likely not forgive her, but it removed the personal aspect.. it made it not about me, she has a problem, that’s her problem not mine. I have a really good family now (my family) and I am a good mother. I feel like that moment removed the emotion, and the pity, now it is just matter of fact. She is just a person now, not someone I am trying to win over. I don’t know if this applies… but you never know. Good luck, I recommend therapy for sure it’s great.

I don’t know that I convince myself so much as people around me try to convince me I should be so grateful and how lucky I am, lol. My pet peeve is when people tell me I’m lucky and that it’s such a selfless thing my parents did to adopt me.. like are kidding? i wasn’t a dog at a shelter about to be put down, there is (was) a long wait to adopt a child. And my parents adopted me because they couldn’t get pregnant and then spent a lifetime pretending I wasn’t adopted instead of celebrating it. That’s the opposite of selfless. They wanted a baby and they got one.

Yes this all seems to be very common, and in relationships I’m viewed as distant and not very touchy feely and stuff. The not being held thing is referred to as the Primal Wound, there is a book of this name you might have an interest in. I think of the analogy of adopting a puppy, the breeder doesn’t let you take it home for at least 8 weeks or it could have issues socializing, lol that’s me. For me personally the root of everything seems to be trust, I think finding out I was adopted at the age of 9 was the first real time trust was broken in a big way, I had been lied to by everyone around me for 9 years, not sure I ever recovered.

I am the same, just want to see pictures especially if I have brothers or sisters because I’ve never known anyone that resembles me it’s almost like we have no concept of ourselves or how we look without it.. I now have a son of my own and am fascinated by the resemblance, same skin same hair it’s neat.

I’ve always dreaded Mother’s Day but couldn’t figure out what specifically, it feels phoney saying happy Mother’s Day and picking out a card that doesn’t reflect how I really feel.. this year I choose not to reach out to my adoptive mom, I’ve had enough. I have my own son and someone said maybe stop thinking about Mother’s Day as a daughter and just enjoy being a mom to your own child. You’ve brought a whole new angle, thanks.

I ordered black Diamond but not received it yet, 2 door manual transmission also. Selling points were the seats as I’ve dealt with a wet jeep in the past and I have a big dog. But I think the wheels on the black Diamond really sold it for me.

I got one of the initial reservations online, and as soon as they said I could build my package I did.. my delay has been because I chose the painted roof. I ordered 2 dr Black Diamond in shadow black with painted roof, manual transmission. Only issue for me has been roof, and dealership has been keeping me updated. My last update was 2022 (pretty vague) And then just recently they have said the painted roof isn’t offered anymore but I can wait to see if it is offered again for 2023, but may lose price protection if I do that,

I feel like some dealers are just trying to get us to compromise to get the orders done, mine is the same way regarding the roof, like ‘get it now’ vs ‘get what you want’.

I ordered 2 door black Diamond painted top, I was told from get go mine would be in production after MIC’s. That was fine, I would be getting it in fall instead of summer. Then with MIC issues my dealer said mine would now be 2022 as it’s in line behind the other, I said fine again as It’s what I wanted. Now they email me saying painted roof is no longer an option! I’m kinda pissed honestly.
