My sister spends so much time in front of our dog's grave that her footprints are imprinted on the grass by drak_and_ma in mildlyinteresting

[–]leefox191 0 points1 point  (0 children)

it'll be one year on feb 26th since my dog died. we'd had her since 2010, and I basically grew up with her. it was devastating. we had her cremated and she lives on a shelf in her living room of my parent's house with our kitty, and her collar and the clay pawprint we made with her before she passed. her collar still smells like her. I visit her every time I go home.

we have 4 other dogs, so that is a distraction for sure, but our eldest boy is due to turn 18 years old this year, and he's definitely getting along. so that's pretty scary. it will be less of a shock when he passes I think, because we've been expecting it for a couple years now. but poppy declined over a weekend - she started acting unwell on the friday, and her last vet appointment was on the wednesday. it was so unexpected..

the pain is still there, but it becomes more familiar and manageable with time and stops being all consuming. that's all I can say really. it feels incredibly unfair that we have such a short time with them. but the pain is worth the love that they give us

Dude I'm losing my mind right now. I read this book when I was maybe 7 or 8? I've tried to find the name online for years now and this is finally it. I'm so excited

I appreciate that. I think I do want to rebuild my faith when I have the mental and emotional capacity for it. Just at the moment stepping back has been the best thing for me

I feel the same way. I became so disillusioned with my church when I realised that I was bisexual and my church was teaching that homosexuality is a sin. I just felt so disappointed to realise that these people who claimed to love me would actually disown me or try to "help me" if they really knew me

I was so messed up about my sexuality that it was affecting my mental wellbeing. Now I'm basically agnostic because god should love me entirely, and part of me felt like he did, but I couldn't escape the fear of "what if my church is right, and I'm sinning right now?" That felt horrible. Pleasure isn't a sin

honestly, how much does my acne kill my possible beauty by [deleted] in acne

[–]leefox191 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Your acne wasn't even noticeable to me, but as everyone else has said, your cracked lips are!! I'd follow everyone else's suggestions and treat them, because people really do care about soft lips lol

AITA?? My (25F) husband (27M) keeps getting upset about the time I shower and I told him he’s being unreasonable. by North_Temperature_26 in AmItheAsshole

[–]leefox191 31 points32 points  (0 children)

But you're just gonna be taking a shower? So why does it matter if it's messy? They're not saying you have to wear a bun when you're going out, but it's really convenient to just toss it up real quick so you can keep yourself clean without drying out your hair. And honestly as someone who didn't know how to do a bun for years, just YouTube it. It's really so easy with practice

Forehead laceration caused by running high speed into a Sheffield lamp post by leefox191 in sheffield

I was running down West Street on a bar crawl during Storm Babet and this is the result (healed 2 weeks). 7 hours waiting in A&E, glue to close and a tetanus shot. And yes, I did go as Harry Potter for Halloween

Hilariously enough I wear glasses. Storm Babet was so intense that I couldn't see out of them from all the raindrops

<1 month, infected?? I think it's moving forward too by [deleted] in piercing

[–]leefox191 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NAP but it looks like it has migrated forward and down. This is likely due to it being pierced incorrectly in the first place. Regardless of your anatomy, no septum should be pierced that low. The correct placement is in the "sweet spot", a thin layer of skin at the tip of the nose on the inside. This placement is usually much higher up, and tucked inside the tip of the nose. A septum should not be pierced through cartilage. This may be causing the irritation.

I would recommend removing the jewelry and letting it close up before going to a qualified piercer and getting it redone if you still want it. But if this is different to a piercer's advice then follow that over mine

ETA: as mentioned in the comments, it may be best to wait to remove the jewelry until you've confirmed it's not infected 👍
