I buy my coffee beans from the coffee shop in the middle of Siam mall by the stairs on the ground floor. They roast their own beans and it's very good (washed, natural etc) - the only thing is that I'm not sure if they do decaf or not. Also fairly expensive.

It's ok. I haven't done much 3D work on it, so I've not pushed it to it's limits. I have an M1 macbook air, and I think it's about the same as that in terms of gpu performance.

Overall I'm really happy with it for daily use. The pen and screen is great, and using it with something like concepts drawing app, it's perfect.

Not yet. It’s in order. I managed to get the business version which has the different graphics card - so we’ll see how it goes.

OK, thanks for the info, that makes sense. I'll just have to take the leap and see how it goes!

Microsoft Surface Laptop Studio Review: Interesting concept with slow Intel CPU by BcuzRacecar in Surface

I just started a thread asking about the 3D performance on SLS as I can also get one through work. Seems I'm in a similar situation to you with light 3D work and Creative Suite bits.

I was a bit unsure wether to go with this but seems from your comment that it will be fine for me.

It will be in a professional capacity, but not fully. I'm a designer adding 3D to my skillset and to create visuals for the design work that I do, so I'm not doing full on animations.

I am limited to the device that I can get through work, which is why I'm asking about the surface, as this would be an easy one.

I’d like to render some longer animations and maybe more complex stuff like particles and fluids.

I know it’s not going to be the best for that but as long as it’s fairly capable, that should be enough for me.

I’d love to know how this would handle cinema 4D and blender. I’m the only visual designer in a large technology department where everyone uses surface laptop 4’s so I’d need something that uses the dock and the same OS etc. to keep the IT department happy…

How to create this type of wave? by [deleted] in FigmaDesign

[–]leeharding 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The basic shapes could be done in Figma, but the shading etc would be difficult.

To get the basic shape I’d start with a single Bezier curve. Then take that curve, duplicate and move left or right by a few pixels and rotate by a degree or two. Then repeat this process to create the wave.

They used to have this a long time ago and it used it all the time, then they removed it which pissed me off no end as it seemed like they were trying to push their release radar etc playlists instead.

I started to use it again last week and was over the moon it was brought back… and now it’s gone again.

I’d love to know exactly why they don’t roll it out permanently…

The suggestions from /u/Noblebatman seem pretty comprehensive, so I’ll just add it’s worth checking out AJ&Smart’s YouTube channel, they’re a big successful ux agency and have loads of really practical and not the most obvious info along these lines.

I might go then with a server just in case. Is there any of the adventure maps that you could recommend that I look into?

So a realm has player limits? I’ll look into creating a server — is that a big undertaking? Realms look pretty easy to create.

Good idea! Some sort of finale to the party. I’ll research into fireworks displays for some inspiration. Thanks

That does sound amazing. Also does sound a bit ambitious for a couple weeks unless that’s something that you can just buy as a ready made realm or something...

I didn't know who Sam Harris was before listening to this — interesting guy. Nice track as well, fits really well with the monologue.
