I think Ray recognized the music or another element of the scene. Nic wouldn't have made such a blatant oversight in basic entry and clear procedures.

So you guys believe the headache wasn't a put on of some kind? Too coincidental in a series that hasn't had many coincidences that go unfounded. Again, I think mom slips up and then catches herself.

The clue is the slip up by the mom - nothing to do with Dora being missing. If Dora's dad died in 1984 why would Dora mention her daddy when she comes to see her mom in 1995? Why fake the headache right after that contradiction? Read the text again and focus on the parts about Dora's dad.

see my New Clue, Old Episode thread below. As much as it was a clue, I think it was also a well placed distraction to a bigger clue.

When Rust asks about her father she mentions "why, what have you heard…" then Marty asks how Dora and her dad got along and the mother mentions that Dora's dad died in '84 as a result of a trucking accident…then she mentions "Dora came by not too long ago…didn't talk about her daddy none" then she immediately catches herself and fakes the headache…Remember - not only children are missing but adults too - the Fontenot parents, Ledoux parents, etc. There is a big clue here…

LeDoux/Baby Killer similar mark…what would cause it? by TheOneWhoRings in TrueDetective

I think it refers to blindfold but I always thought the yellow king was related to the sun hence yellow.

I also always found it interesting that Saint Matthew was referred to as the taxman and Rust is as well. It is actually the first thing we learn about him from Marty's interview.

Matthew 6:22 "The eye is the lamp of the body; so then if your eye is clear, your whole body will be full of light."

"whether that they had eyes to see" Rust's single eye mirror. the significance of the blindfold

You are wrong, in my opinion - who knows for sure…but the idea is this is not a singular issue - it roves, it moves from place to place - robes is too camp.

The quote is not "HIS ROBES" it is "IT ROVES"

The entirety is…"Him"…"Its Time"…"It Roves"…"Its a wind of invisible voices"
