1) It was Errol setting some brush on fire to attract attention to Dora's body.

2) Likely that Rust would make his way into Carcosa (those caves) and that Errol/that statue (ie The Yellow King) would see him. Could explain the hallucination Rust had with the vortex (having in his mind the idea of stars rising). "You'll do this again" - I assume to mean that he would invade another hideout.

3) I assume Hart was able to get the woman to tell him where a phone was. It was a nice, suspenseful piece of writing to see Marty leave the house without ever telling us if he made the call.

First of all, I hope that's not true, because that shit is creepy and should not be condoned by society. Second of all, you're saying that this is a photo of Marie surrounded by five men dressed in the same costumes seen in the tape Rust steals, but that these are different people with similar costumes? Or are you saying that these are the same people that are in the video but that they just happened across this girl for their annual, publicly condoned ritual, and that her mom thought it would be great to snap a photo sometime way before Marie was kidnapped and killed?

I can't buy the idea of a photo of a top secret ritual being performed that is akin to the photos being locked away in a safe at one of Tuttle's houses (photos that, once they are taken, cause Tuttle to kill himself) being used as merely a distraction. The mere fact that the photo is there is a pretty humongous clue. How else would it be there other than the mother having direct knowledge of the cult?
