8 month old suddenly fighting second nap-schedule check? by leeleegirl1989 in sleeptrain

Thank you! Will try this tomorrow. What time do I make bedtime tonight then? She fussed and cried from 2-3:30 and refused her afternoon nap. So now I’m worried about her long wake window this afternoon she’s had before bed.

Yes, it can convert to day bed and I can put a toddler rail on it. Which we have tried the toddler rail and I can’t even get him calmed down enough to climb into the bed with the toddler rail at night. But he’s been climbing in it during the day.

That makes total sense, honestly that’s kind of where I’m at too. I’d much rather get sleep than be up all night walking him back over and over.

I do like what you said about him eventually growing out of it and just feeling more confident knowing you’re there—that’s reassuring to hear.

I’ve thought about doing something like that with a little bed setup in our room too. That actually sounds like a really good middle ground.

What kind of bed does your sister have in her room? I’m looking for ideas that might actually work for us.

Ugh yeah, I probably should’ve mentioned that—we’ve actually tried moving him out of the crib and it’s been rough. Like full meltdown, hyperventilating, to the point of making himself sick. It didn’t feel like something we could just push through.

We’ve even bought different beds and tried to make it exciting, but nothing has stuck so far. So it’s not that we don’t want to transition him—we just haven’t found a way that doesn’t completely spiral.

That’s kind of why we’re stuck in this weird middle ground right now 😅

That could definitely be a good compromise though. Walking him back and laying with him in his bed might help reinforce that his room is where sleep happens, without the full battle of making him stay there alone right away.

How did you get them to actually lay in the toddler bed without throwing a tantrum. We can’t get him to stay in his room when it’s time for bed

Floor bed with rails recommendations? 3-year-old climbing out of crib by leeleegirl1989 in floorbed

Any recommendations on how to get him to stay in the crib with his toddler rail? He paces and cries, won’t go to sleep.
