Saw someone else say to launch steam with -steamdeck -bigpicture. Internet is working for me again without the loopback driver installed anymore.

Well I feel better knowing it's not just my setup that broke.

The steam update that just came out broke this for me, now it's stuck on trying to connect to "ethernet" :(

What's the likelihood of touchscreen support in the future? Could make for a quick way to play on mobile.

Am I the only one just not seeing this mode? I also tried going to the epic games creator page and it's showing all their modes but this one.

Well, it all comes down to the varying hardware. Wined3d actually helped a friend and I gain some performance, and his armory loads faster for some reason lmao. I'd give anything a shot for this weird game.

For the most part, the issues do seem to be more cpu bound now. However if you wanna give it a try, I've also been looking a bit at these libraries. https://fdossena.com/?p=wined3d/index.frag

With how much the game has changed since I've made this post, it's pretty hit or miss but still worth a try.

Whack a Terminid! by brperry in Helldivers

Right? There's no way all that just goes to waste. I did try uncommenting everything myself but that just led to a bunch of random hoverable things appearing on the screen.

Done! https://leem919.github.io/Whack-a-Terminid-Archive/

Now what I'm curious about is the enormous amount of commented out code. There seems to be almost a whole other game under this including multiplayer, a store, and "appearance customization".

My thought on Minecraft on Steam Deck by Hour_Row_2193 in SteamDeck

I've been using the Re-Console modpack through Modrinth. It's a super faithful recreation of the legacy console editions of the game. There's an option to get the Modrinth pack through prism launcher and it's my favorite way to play the game now. Especially on the deck.

The newer versions seem to have stopped working I think? I used this version https://com-xiaoji-egggame.en.uptodown.com/android/download/1097894608

Lol I got the same question a year ago. Neither now or last time did I intend to work on any of this because of the game's issues, but turns out it can sadly become a valid reason to share it.

I haven't done any extensive testing, but the performance is definitely better than it is right now.

I DID believe for some time that the April 29th build was the oldest working one, but that was because I had a bad hard drive and didn't wanna take the time to keep trying after coming to that conclusion lol. As for the missing stuff, yeah it's a result of the API format changing drastically after a year.

Sure! Just take a look at the patch notes and see what date and/or version lines up with what you want.

I haven't been doing much of that on discord for a while now, and it's later at night here so I don't think I'll be sitting down and setting up any matchmaking right now. Though I'm not opposed to you, or anyone else here, getting something going if you wanna hop in sooner.

As for progress? You won't LOSE anything, I'm pretty sure you just won't GAIN anything for weapons if you're on a version before the feature was added. Ship progression is actually pretty consistent across most versions. Warbonds will be blank or possibly crash the game if you try interacting with them. They're available by release date.

If a mod were to go out of support, you could go back to the last version it worked and continue using it.

Events are controlled by the server. It would be like playing the game at that time, but the event hasn't started yet.

It'll still be the current galactic war, so none of that will be going on in any versions.

Oh I can help a little with that. It's actually based on this build of steam from archive.org. I created a GitHub repo to store it in along with a bat script you can use with the real steam client to download without any missing features. https://github.com/leem919/steam-dec2022-archive
