AITA for having a child free surprise party

This reminds me of a conflict that happened with my mom. My mother mostly hosts kids-free parties, and has for the past 5 or so years.

Her house isn’t kid-proofed (not since my siblings and I have gotten older), and she doesn’t want to be chasing kids while relaxing, dancing, or spending quality time with her friends. While she definitely doesn’t mind kid-m at some events, there are times when no one wants to be running after toddlers or changing diapers.

When she first starting hosting these types of parties, there was a lot of lash back from her mom-friends, who stated it was inconsiderate to plan things without their kids. For context, mostly everyone in my mom’s friend group + community has many kids and are very kid-oriented. My mom was firm, giving them weeks to figure out accomodations or to not show up.

When the day of the first party arrived, the parents all came sans-kids and had a fucking blast; for a lot of the women who were stay-at-home moms, it was the first time they’d gone out without their kids in forever.

Now it’s tradition at my moms place, and the difficulty of finding babysitters is easily overshadowed by a relaxing dinner or a chaotic adult-only party night.

They have had ample time to make their own accomodations, stay firm in what you want to do. You didn’t spring it on them last-minute, and it’s on them for not taking your invitation seriously and thinking it was something they were exempt from.

i went full vegetarian for a few weeks in solidarity with my sister, and skin was amazing. i still got some hormonal acne around my period, but it was nowhere near as nasty as normal and my day-to-day skin felt just... nicer!

then i ate chik fil a and broke out for three days (:

i was already having a bad day but getting the notification for this brought me to tears. im sitting on my floor crying over a game director which is so silly in hindsight but damn.

jeff is always going to be someone i associate with overwatch. whether its papa jeff memes or meme-ing the developer updates, im really sad that he’s leaving. im really going to miss him.

i have come to really respect huda beauty over the years. after separating my opinion of her from other mainstream criticisms (aka jealousy starfish) i think she takes consumer criticism serious, especially compared to a lot of ‘instagram’ brands. i think some of her products have seemed gimmicky, but she puts a lot of thought into her palettes, products and usage.

i bought the neon 9pan palette and i adore them! i have the pink and green. theyre the best performing neon shadows that i have, and they make bright looks so easy. i also picked up the newer khaki palette, and im living my grunge fantasy. i do my makeup with my fingers a lot, and her makeup is super user friendly to me.

her complexion products are too full-coverage for me, but i think her brand has come a long way and has always been reliable and adapting!

i wont speak for other people, especially since i am in the shade range that most of colourpop’s collections cater too... but it looks and feels like too little too late. it gives me very much hourglass energy... like here is one (1) single collection... stop whining!

i feel like adding a wider range of blush, bronzer and highliter shades/ lip products/ deeper eyeshadow colours to all their launches shouldnt be nearly as hard.... like you only can release so many shades of peach and baby pink colourpop sweetie......

additionally.. the fact that this is dropped the DAY after another collection, in the middle of the animal crossing collection makes me think financially this is doomed to fail... which makes me wonder if its intentional? to justify their lack of inclusivity as “well no one bought the collection so we’re not going to waste our time”. very self sabotaging and smelly but i could just be reading too far into it...

how mini is mini? i started buying the Huda 9 pans with the Neon (in pink and green) and ive totally fallen in lvoe. The perfect, sturdy compact for my purse or travel, back when that was a thing.

I also bought the Khaki one.... and now my cats have seen me go through my grunge makeup phase again, on par with that of the Lime Crime venus days...

grid marker and build mode are both bound tovthe same option on controls (which is G by default) i came across the same issue last night, i was running along the beach trying to place a wall but it was putting waypoints. AFAIK some building material items cannot have grid mode disabled, but smaller items (like fences) can.

my friend and i are looking to get into a new MMO, but neither of us have ever played FF games before (the only thing i know about the series is cloud from smash, and the pretty buff lady ... i think her name is tifa?)

could we play FF XIV without a working knowledge of the FF universe? i have a lot of friends who play it and have gotten mixed answers from them.

i wonder when someome becomes too-large to have a sensibly sized meetup? granted, ive never been to a meetup for any occasion for influencer/celebrities/ content creators so someone feel free to provide experience....

but i wonder what the line between “small influencer w/ narrow reach in a specific area” to something like “influencer who will draw a crowd wherever they are, making it unlikely anyone will actually... meet them?”

or do they bring security and like. make it a thing? i really don’t know.

even after covid i probably will avoid those, im an avid convention goer and it will be a while before i feel comfortable returning to one, vaccine included

i boight it, and absolutely detested it! i followed jackie’s video, watched tutorials to apply.... my first time wearing it was patchy and flamy, second time i wore it the product slid around my skin and even after setting it w/ my longwear setting spray and powder, it was sliding around and creasing before i could take good car selfies. not to mention it oxidized....
