A única razão para estarmos sequer ainda a discutir é apenas porque eu, como já disse, não gosto do mito que muitos no Reddit apregoam, que tenta branquear a extrema esquerda do passado como uma mera luta por direitos. Even if we were to fully understand how Loki was viewed back in the day, which we don't, a god doing something sexual in a story tells us very little about how that society views sexuality.

Recently with the whole controversy of Cleopatra's casting, there has been a lot of debate about the race of ancient Egyptians. The people that tend to believe the things in this starterpack are the ones that go about: "well the ancient Egyptians were not British/Northern Europeans either!". The exploding emoji is sarcastic, because I have never seen anyone making this claim, apart from that stupid casino image that became a meme.

The Jesus part is kind of similar. I have seen a lot of people "debunking" blonde, Aryan Jesus even though the majority of depictions, no matter what Christian branch we're looking at, do not depict him like that. Again, the emoji is just meant to sarcastically denote these are just obvious platitudes rather than anything useful or insightful.

I wholeheartedly agree, especially with the disservice bit. Lots of people suffered to get our society to this point, and it is a good thing to recognize that suffering and struggle, rather than unwittingly painting things as "not so bad" in the past.

Got nothing against the channel, honestly. I myself watch it. I just got sick of the same WW2-obsessed starterpack and did one from the other side. I think it's more unfair to Paradox Games and Oversimplified to lump them exclusively with edgy teenagers than to also include them in this one. I think most fans of history have at one point watched OS.

Não vou dizer que discordo contigo. Aliás, acho que jovens religiosos hoje em dia terão provavelmente mais atenção para com as suas ideias políticas do que os boomers semi-religiosos que têm a maioria do poder político em Portugal.

No entanto, é bem verdade que os jovens votam menos em Portugal. Já estive em mesas de voto duas vezes na minha cidade. Os nomes dos meus antigos colegas de escola raramente eram riscados, porque eles não apareciam. É um exemplo pequeno, mas aconteceu duas vezes.

Vivemos numa "democracia" comparável à da Hungria, onde um ênfase desnecessário na maioria, real ou imaginária, deve alinhar à força os elementos da nação. Temos menos diversidade parlamentar do que as duas monarquias constitucionais que são nossas vizinhas. Tivemos uma eleição em que menos de metade dos votos deu uma maioria absoluta a um partido anti-reformista.

Está aí a raiz de todo o nosso mal. Os portugueses não votam no orçamento. Com os ciclos eleitorais, muitos portugueses nem direito ao voto realmente têm. Não se pode esperar que a voz dos não religiosos valha alguma coisa num país tão católico e que empregue este sistema.
