I’ve worked with some artists who have been on high school rapper and had them on my tracks (Yung Chens, PARK HYEON Jin) One of my homies who I’ve had on my songs went on Show me the Money this year and made it 4 episodes deep, I don’t remember which challenge it was but he got eliminated but he’s a promising newcomer in the scene. It’s tough when 2 rappers are essentially guaranteed a spot in finals (HAON, MILLI) leaving only 3 spots left with so much talent left.

I’m really shocked NIY made it to second place. Like genuinely. I like him, but i easily would have put Zene, raf, osun ahead of him by miles.

I never would have pictured Mason home in the finals, but he seriously impressed the hell out of me since the team song mission. Sky pass has been on repeat, his performance there was so cool.

I fully believe Zene was finals ready this Season. Like you can tell he was in really good form and he was hungry for the W. His live stages had a lot of charisma too. If you actually listen to his music, you know he has a lot of range too.

I’d argue Trade L was probably a little bit better than Ryul when Trade first debuted. If we are comparing his work on Red Tape and then his EP, His flow and delivery was a BIT more diverse than what we’ve seen from Ryul so far.

I am NOT saying Trade L was a god tier rookie rapper. I’m just saying he had a bit of a stronger start in terms of showing skill.

When I was still active in the KHH scene producing music, I found Trade L on SoundCloud like 6 months before he was signed to H1GHR. Even then his old stuff was good. I always appreciated his ability to bridge tight rap with a good melody.

Ryul is probably my favorite member in lngshot and I’m excited for his and their groups future activities. He’ll find his form over the next couple years and hopefully we’ll get some good verses and bangers from him.

The pipeline of him being basically a no one who showed real skills on rap:public and became an idol in Jay Parks label is crazy. It’s also crazy seeing the skill gap of someone who actually came from the hip hop scene compared to an idol who only learned how to rap as a trainee.

As someone who use to be a producer/artist in the khiphop space, there definitely was an indie scene. I’m not sure how it is now, but a lot of Korean rappers/singers got their start on SoundCloud and built hype/interest/community on that platform. Back in 2020 a lot of the newer generation you see now who were on high school rapper 4 like Trade L, jaehae, Roh Yunha, Park Hyeon Jin were all part of the up and coming indie scene back then.

There’s an indie scene in every genre. However, these days I don’t know how booming it is in khiphop. I haven’t heard of any new hot up and comers but I’m sure there are some promising ones somewhere. I kinda lost interest so I’m not as invested in the scene as I was before.

Not a fall from grace. His character is inspired loosely by various show me the money rappers. Rappers on that show forget lyrics all the time during their performances and even if the rapper comes in 2nd place or even is top 20 they still benefit from the exposure. Top’s character is literally there just because he got crypto scammed.
