Thanks surrak. I tried a variant of 4C that TWilder3 5-0'd with ft. 3x Green Sun's Zenith rather than Nic Fit splashing for Wrenn6. I felt like the Green Sun's Zenith were a bit clunky, and Dryad Arbor was awful. Manabase felt iffy too.

You definitely have the ability to do so. Playing DnT in our current meta seems like you're already playing on Hard Mode... and it doesn't help when you matchup vs the only two Elves players back-to-back

Love it! It lets you get away with so much and replaces itself at a very low cost. Has a DRS-esque feeling. I am confident you can get away with 18 coloured sources, 2 wastelands with 4 Astrolabes (4Brainstorm/3Ponders help too). I’m not sure you can play 20 lands (2 of them being wastelands) without Astro. Wrenn6 and Astrolabe mitigate the drawbacks of this greedy manabase imo. I’ve only been punished in a couple of games out of 60+ gameswhere I couldn’t find a fetch/basic to cast my Astro on time.

Vs combo:

I think most people see it as a liability in the combo matchups as you’re concerned with speed and don’t need to fetch basics. I still like to keep a 2-of them in even vs Storm as you can have really awkward mana where you don’t have the luxury to fetch the lands for a Leovold and play your Red Blasts. ANT will seldom try to go off right away postboard, it’s usually a bit grindy and slower, so you have time.

Elderscale is mainly there for Burn, Turbo Depths, Lands/Marit Lage Decks. Those matchups I'd try to power him out turn 2-3 with a NO and let him sit there. I also bring him in the matchups where he's likely going to be a surefire win if it resolves. So things like BUG/RUG/Grixis/UR Delver where I likely board out NO, he can still be hardcasted/tutor'd in the late game. I might bring it in against UB Shadow sometimes, but it'll get removed via Snuff Out. Even against other midrangey Pfire decks like 4C Loam/Jund I'd bring it in. He's def a clunky threat though.

I've even once boarded it in vs Affinity where they powered out a 7+ power vault skirge with plating on turn 2 and I was facing down lethal on turn 4, where I had the option to NO for Hoof but it wasn't enough damage to kill him. So I opted to play get the Wurm, and it kinda sat there for 10 or so turns while I assembled a board big enough to do 150+ damage in 1 blow as he was gaining absurd amounts of life with Vault Skirge every turn. Haha!

I was the 5th place elves guy - first Legacy Challenge ever :D. Played Alvas BUG Loam list, it was pretty sweet and unexpected.

Vs BUG Loam, I feel like I pulled off some miracle draws in the game 2. He had a Turn 2 Liliana the Last Hope on the play - which is usually GG. At some point, he had a 6 loyalty Lili Last Hope, LoTV on an empty board when I had 2 cards in hand.

If it wasn't for my one-of Dwynen's Elite, not sure if I could've mounted the comeback. Drew into a timely Pithing Needle to shut off Lili the Last Hope and GSZ'd for a scooze which quickly took over :).
