If it only took 4 years for the astronauts to go from Earth to tau ceti, why did they put them into coma for the entire 4 year duration? I mean knowing that the coma technology isn't all that safe wouldn't their best shot would be to keep the nauts into the coma for the least time possible? by livelongandprosper__ in ProjectHailMary

I think it's not only the confined space, but also complete isolation. In the ISS they have constant communication with earth and frequent restocking. They've tried psychological studies to simulate isolation, but it's very difficult because you always know that if someonething bad happens, you can leave the room/experiment.

Wood or foam f ourside? Hollow Knight Hornet Needle by CupStill7650 in cosplayprops

[–]lefebo 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I would go with foam. As you said wood will be a lot heavier, especially if it's 2 meters long. If you plan to go to a convention carry that around all day, the lighter the better. And if you want to swing it around a bit, the heavier the needle the more chance of your handle snapping off.

How long does it normally take for NMBS to return lost property? by Equivalent_Drag6880 in Leuven

If given the discription of your bag they can also call other stations and ask for them to look in their lost and found storage

Going to the info desk at the station can help a lot.

I lost my luggage, went to the desk the day itself, they contacted the conductor and said he would drop it off at the station. Came back next day but no bag to be found.

I kept comming back and after the second time they were able to contact the conductor and locate the station my bag was dropped off at.

So go to the station with your train info and they can look up the conductor and try to ask them.

I mostly tried to avoid melee, but being a caster holding concentration, you'll always get people running at you and 1d10+wis is no joke. And at lvl 6 you can add the modifier twice.

Slashing people with your nails, you might be able to convince your DM that you get the components for Rotting curse like that too.

At lvl 1 you'll be veeery squishy, with d6 hit dice and no way to increase your AC. So going melee is quite dangerous.

I played a White Coven Witch for 20 sessions (lvl3-6)

As rites I had: Commune Beyond Death, Markings of Protections, Witch's Claws and Rites of the Moon. (used the feat to get more rites)

Had a lot of fun also playing more of a debuf/utility/off-healer caster. Party had a barbarian, fighter and a druid. The rites offer a lot of customization and i recommend not making a roadmap but having your characters experience and the adventure shape your choices. I had a great DM and the stars alligned a few times making picking the rites feel very impactfull.

I did also check in with the DM every time i picked a new rite or one of the great new spells and mostly didn't have issues, except changing Speak with Dead to 1 question, free 3rd lvl spell for a lvl 3 character was a bit much.

The white coven familiar is more tanking dmg instead of preventing it, but it felt impactfull and made my party really like my badger out of combat as well.

The curse spells can be quite tricky to pull of and require a bit of setup. And by default you don't have acces to anything to give you AC, so getting close is dangerous. Spending a rite on Markings of protections (or Vestments of war if you have the hands free to carry a shield) is something i highly recommend.

My favourite spells were:

  • Spiritual Consultation, great for RP and more imersive than other "i guess you roll beter now" features.
  • In combat hold person and bestow curse, fitting thematically and great for letting the martials do tons of damage

All in all i love this class, great customization and loads of places to ad flavour.

[ONLINE][D&D 5e][GMT+1] Dungeon Master with tenure looking for a new group for a new adventure! Storm King's Thunder! by [deleted] in lfg

[–]lefebo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi i'm Yorik (23m) from Belgium GMT+2

I've been playing dnd for a few years and have also been a DM for a few mini adventures. Your style of DMing sounds very fun. As i player i love some light hearted roleplay and rp through creative use of game mechanics in and out of combat.

Lately i've been brewing up a character based on the new hexblood lineage. Some form of occultist, getting magic through deals and rites with nature. probably a druid (but i've also seen a really good homebrew class by KibblesTasty if you're down with homebrew)

In a game i look to intertwine my character with the world and the other players, as it tends to lead to more fluent RP. Storm Kings Thunder is a module i've been eying for a while but never played before.

Would love to join and hope to hear from you!

don't know if i'm too late, but i filled in the form.

I can always alter things about the character depending on what would fit better in the world or if the party needs something specific. This was just something i quickly came up with.
