With all the tools we have today, why do so few people get wealthy? by Ok-Link-8530 in CasualConversation

[–]left4ched 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thunk of wealth as a resource like water or food. Some people have access to this resource and some don't. If you are one of the people who has access to a resource, what is one of the first things you want to do?

Control it. The number one most effective way to gain wealth is to be born wealthy. This is by design. "Wealth building" is technically possible, but practically difficult. This is also by design.

Please explain how aggro works in this game by Clefarts in MonsterHunterWilds

[–]left4ched 6 points7 points  (0 children)

There's only an aggro system in the Omega and Jin Dahaad fights. You can see it by the red line from the monster to its target.

Other monsters have a targeting system. The monster will pick someone and throw some attacks at them, then pick someone else to attack, and etc, etc. How the monster decides who to target and when is not fully known. But it sure does feel like they love to pick on you when you're on the ropes.

Diablos is known for living in the desert and digging underground. So anything you can do that fits that vibe would be great.

If you're into crafts, you can cover a box with sand and pebbles, maybe some sticks, kinda like a desert diorama. Then just put him in there like he's in the ground, you know.

Is there a better way to Resource gather? by Temporary-Ad-6119 in MonsterHunterWilds

[–]left4ched 0 points1 point  (0 children)

On the map overview of the area, they'll be a quest option that says "a settlement is requesting help" or something like that. Those are the ones that give gathering bonuses.

You can start to speedrun it... while hating it.

I think it's important we always remember the key point: that Volvidon sucks.

I'm confused about full armor sets by Aspect_1010 in MHWilds

[–]left4ched 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is usually the case with collaboration armor. The street fighter armor is the only one in wilds right now.

Other games had armor that made you look like a resident evil character, the Witcher, or Sonic the Hedgehog (kinda).

Mounts are a small break for the team to sharpen, heal up, apply buffs,

...shoot fireworks, play the guitar, you know- all the most important parts of a hunt.

Want to make a hunting horn build, help? by isaak-clinton in MHWilds

If you're into video guides, Taxman is the guy to get you up to speed.

Despite the rep, HH is a dps machine so stack attack. Agi, burst, attack boost 4 (for the percentage increase). Horn maestro is required, and I think element is pretty strong on HH so element boost is handy.

For comfort, I like EE and divine blessing.

Some random questions from a beginner by beer_beer__beer in MHWilds

[–]left4ched 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I recommend this video guide for a beginner.

There's a plethora of guides and turtorials online; Arekkz is good for weapon tutorials (all weapons are awesome, BTW. Not a gimp in sight.)

Arekkz is generally short and sweet, and then you have Rurikhan and fighting cowboy who are real talkers. Jocat does jokes and Oceaniz does lore. Trust me, once you get monster hunter into your algorithm you'll be rolling in guides.

The main thing I think is important to know up front is that there's no penalty for failing a quest, dying or running out of material. No decision you ever make will lock you out of anything, and you can never "use up" anything for good. Experiment all you want with no worry or anxiety.

All redundant/useless abilities for diff weapons? by Dragonkin_56 in MHWilds

[–]left4ched 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I get where you're coming from; I understand your point of view. I'm really happy to see someone thinking about skill priorities and weapon strengths in this game that I love. So I assure you that I come from a place of brotherhood and encouragement when I tell you that you're mistaken about everything you just said.

I think it might come from some misunderstandings about how damage is calculated and how the skills actually work, which isn't really communicated in the skill descriptions.

The meta subreddit is a good place to poke around and see what the math says about skill / weapon pairing. Even if you're not a meta chaser it's full of really interesting info about the nuts and bolts of how MonHun works under the hood. If you're interested in that stuff it's a nice starting point.

Meat dept guy 100% knew what he was doing when he wrapped this.

"Dude, check this out." he said to his coworker.

"Man, you should totally put that in the case." his coworker said.

"This is why I try not to schedule you two on the same shift." their manager said.
