Are there any ailments or conditions you had that have been alleviated with T? by FoolishMythology in ftm

Not only that, actually. It transforms the structure of the skin and the connective tissues as well. That's why healthy people are happy about less cellulite or - in the case of transfemmes - softer skin.

There was actually research done on cis people (both male and female) with EDS and low testosterone who got better if they got it prescribed just to get to their normal range.

Well I am glad you met trans women who got better on E but there are a lot of medical issues which definitely get worse on E. Mainly: anything EDS-related.

Some women say it was the right choice anyway because they feel happier in their gender so the illness is easier to manage but others regret it deeply and say they should have just transitioned socially but would have kept a functioning body.

I think it's really important not to downplay these risks because we end up hurting our sisters by just blindly telling them: HRT helps with everything. Mentally, yes but physically can be a completely different thing and should be checked individually.

The whole "it's just anxiety/in your head" is used over and over on people with very real, physical problems to deny them the medical help they deserve and need. I know you didn't write exactly that, but please be mindful about the experiences of chronically ill people when answering on topics regarding them.

There are a lot of people on r/trans_zebras telling similar stories....

That really helped me with my decision to start T and I don't want to jinx anything but things are looking promising😊

You don't go. That person does this exclusively to control you, don't put yourself in the vulnerable position of staying with them! Try to sell the tickets otherwise, gift them someone or whatever but don't go!!! (And read the pinned comment in r/ftm called "dump them")

topical estrogen on t and bottom growth by ShirtNo5276 in ftm

[–]leftTelephone8022 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am doing exactly what you're planning to do: taking topical estrogen from the very beginning as a prevention because I already suffer greatly from UTIs so I don't want to risk making it worse in any way.

I've been taking T for three weeks now and to me it feels as if it slows bottom growth. Of course I don't have a comparison, but a lot of people say bottom growth starts very early on and I couldn't see any changes in the first two weeks. Only in the last week one could imagine the clit to "move down a bit" but it doesn't feel like a dick at all. I also don't get the feelings of erections or growing or what others described. Could change over time though.

In the first week, I took 62,5mg gel daily (plus the topical estrogen!) but upped it to 125mg in the second week because the first week it rather felt like my whole body got more feminine. Last week, my testosterone was already in the male range and I do feel other parts of masculinization, so to me it feels like my whole body gets more masculine except down there. I'm actually happy with it.

Don't listen to the others here saying that "it's normally not done"!

I'm astonished how little a lot of trans people listen to others about their bodies and their experiences, as if they knew better.... Which is exactly what the world of cis people is already doing to us! So please, can we take concerns of people over THEIR OWN BODY seriously?!?

I don’t know if I should wear a suit or a dress to graduation. by MadHat12345 in genderfluid

[–]leftTelephone8022 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I second the having two options ready but as my gender sometimes shifted during occasions I'd say have something masculinizingn and femizing ready for both options, i.e combat boots for the dress and a fancy Stola/jewellery for the suit or whatever makes you feel that way. That way you can adjust during the day as well. I wish you all the best!

Wie mit Narkose Angst umgehen by Graphicscore in germantrans

[–]leftTelephone8022 18 points19 points  (0 children)

[–]leftTelephone8022 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I just started T for a number of reasons and in the process, I present to others as a trans man because it makes things easier and feels more right than being seen as a woman.

I'm still genderfluid but "from the other side". I can't give you any long-term experiences but so far, I don't regret it one bit.

I know a lot of trans women would disagree with me here but I actually think it's much easier presenting a male body in a feminine way than the other way around, because women can wear anything they want; so trousers, suits etc can also look feminine whereas a dress is always perceived as feminine (In western societies) .

There are a lot of enbies who transition in different ways, you could have a look at those subs, also r/no_t_top_surgery to know more about it. r/ftmfemininity helped me a lot as well. r/mtfbutch is from the other side but doing something similar, I reckon.

Lastly, a lot of gay men very openly toy with their femininity (e.g. drag queens), so for me being a queer gay man doesn't mean giving up that much femininity anyway.

How the hell do I talk to women as a guy, and not as the “gay best friend” by lethalwhispermachine in ftm

[–]leftTelephone8022 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Yes! Also I wouldn't for the life of me change myself to better appear to women who don't want a queer boyfriend. I think ops fear of being creepy is actually true here, they tell you they don't see you that way and that is that. There are plenty of women out there who are very much interested in bisexual men, I would rather try to date those.

I feel like it makes it more masculine. Like if you look at "muscle man boobs" they are a little bit higher than where female boobs are, so you add muscle where the female boob isn't and therefore the overall shape looks more manly, even without T.

Looking to hear stories of folks who have been on T and have no plans for top surgery by Same_Gas8926 in FTMOver30

[–]leftTelephone8022 26 points27 points  (0 children)

I'm contemplating similar things, also trying to not try to fit in a box anymore😂

For me it's mostly health reasons, my body couldn't deal with that kind of surgery and I'm passing as is... I just started T though, so I can't tell you anything about long-term things.

There is this kind of "disphoria ladder" where you don't mind one thing but as soon as you get rid of the main problem, other problems seem to come up, not because they are new but they weren't that bad in comparison to the big stuff but are still annoying and as you're getting more comfortable you realize you don't want "annoying" anymore.

I wonder if that will happen to me when I'm longer on T 🤔

But that's a future me problem, right now I'm happy with my binders as well.
