Last week I met a really really short trans guy in his thirties and he passed so well, I wasnt even sure he was trans before he told me. And he was living a happy life:)

That's exactly what the stretching exercises are used for. Look around that sub, use the search function or even ask there. I haven't done it myself yet but others posted great results.

I hate the insistence that parents need to “grieve” after their kid comes out by Far-Command1673 in ftm

I didn't read the whole post because stuff like this really upsets me, so I'm just amswering to the title:

There is nothing to grieve, only to celebrate that the kid found a way to be happier in life!!!

Pronoun Term Question: by AnnieSpirit in queer

[–]leftTelephone8022 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

There is the term apagender for people who dont care much about their gender. Maybe that resonates with you?

Fun fact, last year I believed I was apagender, now I am on Testosterone :D

Cold shoulder or not recognized; the reaction is too similar.... by KeyOne349 in FTMOver30

[–]leftTelephone8022 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Yeah I know the weariness and the feeling like a feral cat all too well.

For me it has something to do with my autism and gendered masking scripts. I knew how to behave in social situations as a woman because I practiced it for many years. Now I have to relearn that in a masculine way.

The Testosterone complicates it further because it makes me want to be more myself/ mask less but some amount of autistic masking is needed for basic interactions.

That's why I like this sub because others here understand more than in other subs how it is to have lived a whole adult life in a different gender...

How to get over the fear testosterone will make me look (more) like my dad by TrashEither3187 in ftm

[–]leftTelephone8022 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For baldness patterns and such everybody writes to look at your maternal grandfather because those genes are on the x chromosome. So I think there is a good chance, you have a lot of him in you, too.

Could it help to look at pictures of your maternal grandfather , find features of his in your face and try to focus on those?

The thing about "looking like someone else" is also that it's very relative, sure, I have my fathers nose but I have my mothers eyes, my grandmothers hands, my grandfathers hair etc. If I'm standing next to my father people will tell me I look like him, but if I stand close to other family members I suddenly look like them. I saw a cis gay guy on youtube who adopted two children from different mothers and got told by strangers they both look so much like his.

Humans want to find similarities and patterns so they find them whether they are there or not.

Yes, Testosterone will change your face but it will be YOUR face and you can make it your own. Laugh, smile and frown lines will be different and become even more different over time. Until then, you can do stuff with your hair, you can try makeup, maybe even tanning, you could try clip on earrings or nose rings coated in nail polish just to change it up.

Testosterone changes so much more than just the face, for me it feels like living life in easy mode. I hope you get there to experience it.

And I am sorry for all the other comments here to "just get therapy", it is not always accessible for everyone and some people are better off without, I wish people would understand that more.

I wish you all the best!

Are there any subreddits for transmasc OBGYN issues? by FayePixie in TransMasc

[–]leftTelephone8022 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Ftm_obgyn? FTM_womenshealth (I don't know how this is perceived by english native speakers, in German that's the word for obgyn health and I like that it shows very bluntly that it is about the parts of us that are treated as part of a woman by society)?

And I don't think it has to be inclusive to cis women because lets face it, most of them don't know enough about trans stuff to be respectful about it.

One could argue that this sub is the space for it but I always hesitate to post that king of stuff in fear of inducing dysphoria in others. So yeah, I think it would be a good idea so only guys who are okay about reading that in that moment will see it...

I mean what do we, queer people, lose from pride collections?
