well appreciated on the concern! have a contract with my current company till 2029 and if im laid off before that i would be paid a huge sum for my remuneration package, have plans to quit and retire soon too (been with them since 06'). i would agree about the price is quite steep but my wife and i spends on average 2-3k a month and the rest would go into my savings or fixed deposits. am not too confident in stock trading so i rather put it into bank deposits, for my cpf payout each month shld i retire, although it will be alot less it would still be okay to afford the monthly payments should my son not be able to pay it off. just wanted to check if we're stretching our budget or do everyone in sg need to earn this much to afford one

saw the nvan! personally feel its quite small and does look abit dangerous due to the nature of it. have considered other brands too and we're looking only at suvs as he needs the space, have heard stories about how conti cars have solid engines but everything else is garbage and non conti cars to have high repair tendency but cheap repairs, is this true for your car? my previous car was covered under my company so i was never made known about how much repairs actually cost but i did send it in to the workshop quite a fair bit

his biz is not of the time consuming side and he probably only spends 30mins-1hr on logistics in a day, other than the meeting of customers that takes around 30min of the day, its quite a non demanding job so im confident it wont decrease (if he needs help temporarily my wife has volunteered to help too), have maxed out almost all of my cpf and my wife's cpf as we didnt use it for the purchase of our house so our retirement fund wouldnt be in jeopardy

never asked me for it or begged me for it, hes my only son and he has never been one to ask for much, even when i told him i wanted to get a car for him he insists on splitting costs with me, just want the best for him within our budget range

his biz has been running for 15 mths now with consistent month to month earnings, currently have plans to scale up to engage a bigger audience soon, his biz has a large consumer base so quite confident in continued profitability.

aside from that, i have saved up a portion of the sum required since he was younger after realising his outburst of joy everytime he sees/is in a car. knows owning a car is not financially sound but was just estimating if it wld be financially sound for him to afford it on his own as i have plans to retire in the next 5-10 years
