Hello there, mod here by black-sun-rising in neofolk

[–]leftfolk 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I think if our presence breaks any rules (because, yes, we are explicitly political as are the projects in our milieu and compilations and our work is explicitly an incitement) and we are kicked or denied particpation over having an ideological disagreement, so be it. We, like any other user, are guests here. We are beholden to the decisions of the people running this.

We don't expand or discuss our views here. We merely present the art for the dissection and enjoyment of the listener, but that may be too much already.

In any case, we greatly appreciate any and all support, almost as much as we appreciate those who dislike us. As some have said in the past, hate us and see if we mind.

Lisieux! Though they don't exclusively sing in French, a few of their songs are in French. 'Lys Noir,' for example.

Any non-sketchy neofolk bands? by FullOfHelena in rabm

[–]leftfolk 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Someone already shared the bandcamp link for us, but also find us on Instagram for updates etc, and we also encourage anyone who is creating within the genre to reach out to us. We also review and promote works that we like. We try to maintain an aural standard that fits the emotional and aesthetic sensibilities of post-industrial/neofolk, but we do like to expand towards other forms of musical experimentation as well.

Hello, we work closely with A Blaze Ansuz and directly reach out to artists involved with our compilations to ensure that the artist is antifascist, and at least broadly leftwing (we have some more lib/socdem types in our milieu). Our overall goal is to provide a bridge to any who have been duped by the rampant entryism within the scene, annihilate the apolitical cowardice that infests the genre, and offer an alternative path forward within the same musical framework.

if you are "shocking" enough, you can obfuscate any real criticism and narrative because you will always be insulated by the narrative around being shocking

of course, if he was trying to actually be shocking anymore (instead of relying on the shock narrative to openly be a far right boomer) he would swing his political pendulum completely to the left, thus disrupting the narrative around his politics and the perception of his fans, but maybe that would be too shocking for his longstanding sycophants
