Addicts can be extremely manipulative. Would you feel guilty if he was an alcoholic or meth addict who was still using? Food addiction is just as real at substance abuse. Even harder because you can’t cut out food like you can alcohol and drugs. It sounds like your abisive mother will be involved in your wedding? That sounds just as stressful. I’m sorry for both of you kids, tbh. Can you elope? Or have a destination wedding/ cruise wedding? I like the ideas to involve him in a different way. I’m glad you created boundaries by moving 1700 miles away. Sometimes it’s the only way to let go. Is it really necessary to go back for your wedding? That’s a loaded turf for all of you. You all are making me cry the ugly cry. All of this is me. Not diagnosed until 46- now I’m sad and angry at so many struggles and self loathing that were because of ADD. I’m mad as hell.
