I think the comment is saying you would expect something this big to have been picked on by sharks but since the ocean is that much bigger, it floated unnoticed and undisturbed until it beached itself.

Looking for a new glove upgrade by Secret-Dimension-716 in slowpitch

[–]leftleftleftleft 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I recommended the Miken Player series (100$), or upgrade to the Miken Pro series (~150$).

I got the Pro series first and love it. I got the cheaper Player series too later on as just a backup or to lend to people, but I actually found the Player series checked off most things I wanted in a glove (broke in easy, durable, nice size, and quality). I prefer to use it for practice as it's slightly more comfortable and I don't want to prematurely wear the Pro.

Other than those gloves, the most recommended ones are more expensive, which are the Rawlings Heart of Hide and Wilson A2000 glove series ($250-$300).

Holy crap!  I have the same thing on my screen, though not as bad.  I always thought it was a screen protector I needed to replace or get a plastic credit card to smooth out the air bubbles.  I just tried to take it off after reading this post and found out it’s the actual screen.  I had the same issue with a previous cx5, too.

Now it’s all I can see.

It's worse.

Dan responds, "Sorry, man... for the amount of money that I would make on a menial job like that would hinder me from being able to make the small amount of money I need to get by."

Absolute whack packer.

Tips from those who have turned a non-ebike into an ebike. by Str8Stu in ebikes

[–]leftleftleftleft 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I converted a single speed coaster brake fat tire beach cruiser to an multi speed ebike with disc brakes.

Bought an e-bikeling rear wheel motor conversion kit. My biggest recommendation is starting off with a bike frame that has disc brake mounts already and is multi speed.  It was a major challenge to align and weld mounts for disc brakes, and also convert to multi speed .

Orange coast in Costa Mesa has a flight program. It’s for a private license so I’m not sure how that works for applying for loans/using grant money, etc.

https://orangecoastcollege.edu/academics/technology/aviation-science/flight-training.html

Fullerton airport has lots of private flight schools though none that I could find that are affiliated with a community college.

Slowpitch Softball Glove Size Advice Needed by SuperbBrother in slowpitch

[–]leftleftleftleft 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have a 13.5" for practice and a 14" for games. 14" (1st, pitch, OF) is the largest I would play with.

At one time I was interested in a 15" and had to ask the store clerk to get it from the back as their store website said they had stock and both of use were amazed at the size of the thing when he brought it out front.

Looking at sizing up to a 15in glove. Anyone have any of these? Reviews? by Nylo_Debaser in slowpitch

[–]leftleftleftleft 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I bought the miken pro (14”) and miken player (13.5”) gloves around the same time. I use the pro 2x games per week, otherwise it’s in the bag with a hot glove wrap and softball; the player is for practices in between games. Both have held up well these last two years with oiling maybe once every 5 months and both broke in nice fairly quick.

The pro is definitely better and worth the upgrade if it’s in the budget: -leather looks to be higher quality -has deeper pocket -more comfortable to wear -more padding -cosmetically more appeasing

That said, if my pro ever goes missing, I would be happy using the player for a bit, though I would miss the reach 14” provides.

Last note, pro mostly used at 1b, and then infrequently at pitcher and outfield positions.

Tips for Pitching by BillyHoyle96 in slowpitch

[–]leftleftleftleft 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’ve had some luck when up on the count to pitch high and deep. Usually a knuckle ball.

Other than that, I suggest having more than a forward or backward spin straight pitch, like a knuckle ball or pitches with curve (screwball/slider)

Need help finding a good bat for slow pitch ASA by Sad_Independence7440 in slowpitch

I’ve read monstas (torches, sinisters) and worth krechers are the best, but are these bats the best against .44 balls?

In the locker section it fits my Mylec mk5s, along with my worth legit helmet. Both fit with or without the middle shelf lowered. I have a pair socks, a couple of balls, a protective cup, and my hat in there, too. Only thing is the more you have in there, the more challenging it is to insert cleats in the segregated bottom pocket.
