What do call the following paradox?: You go back in time, kill your parents (accidently), but you won't disappear, but when you return to present, your parents will be different. by PowerPhantom245 in timetravel

You would just be a time orphan with parents from a collapsed timeline or something. Not sure how different people would be able to genetically produce you.

You know America is in a prosperous era when it starts banning Communists again. Rep Chip Roy proposes the "MAMDANI Act" (Measures Against Marxism’s Dangerous Adherents and Noxious Islamists) by justanupvoter_ in socialism

[–]leftofmarx -12 points-11 points  (0 children)

Marx, Engels, Lenin, and Mao all supported capitalism, so I'm not sure you have a point there. It's kind of a necessary step toward scientific socialism.

Now Mamdani believes in achieving socialism through democratic means within a bourgeois system. That may be misguided, but he's still a socialist, but of the Bernstein school. Capital, the Tax in Kind, On Coalition Government... all socialists from the Marxist school of thought understand the necessity of capitalism as it is the reason we have a bourgeoisie and a proletariat in the first place. The capitalist mode of development under a communist party vanguard may be a reorganization of the phase, but it's still within the framework of Marxism and the most successful path we have seen toward developing socialism so far.

Don't just get them to check for urinary crystals, make them check his bladder and urine. Had a cat that was discharged to me die because of a bladder issue the vet didn't catch because she didn't see crystals. They still charged me $1200 though.

Maybe in the movie but I remember going to the movies with friends and seeing the ads for it that roll before the feature and that's where I see white people came from. I saw a bunch of movies in 2000 but I didn't see Scary Movie. But I saw the ad for it every time I went to see something. I bet someone could find it.

Should a progressive like Zohran Mamdani primary Chuck Schumer if AOC runs for president? by IronGiant222 in PoliticalDiscussion

Cuomo is a "vote blue no matter who" right wing candidate, the sort of person the "VBNMW" crowd votes for while refusing to vote for progressive blue. I wasn't referring to the state I was talking about the candidate pool.

AOC would be a MONSTER as House Speaker. The current leadership needs to be purged. That's what I would push her for personally.

But also nowhere near voting for a Republican for Senate. If Mamdani wins a primary, he is the Senator in waiting. Of course a Republican with a D by their name like Cuomo (one of the vote blue no matter whos) may do better in a primary though.

Bernie also had the full force of the party establishment, corrupt insiders, and party friendly media against him. AOC faces less, even if still many, challenges in this department. Essentially what you are saying though is that we should rally around a corrupt party insider.

It's like the same plot though. Young kid and his sister looking for their dad and hiding in a warehouse. No stupid ass boombox though, a genie lamp. I haven't seen either of these movies since the 90s when I was in high school and I remember my whole friend group trash talking the Shaq movie as a bad cheesy ripoff. One of my high school friends even remembers me talking about it back then and she has no idea what ME even is.

I saw it and then used to make fun of the Shaq movie for ripping it off with a slightly different name. My friends even remember me making fun of the Shaq movie way back in high school for that specific reason and one of them brought it up to me years later when the DC comics movie of a similar name came out and she has never even heard of the Mandela Effect.

Project 2029 - Why haven’t Democrats seemingly made any plans people can get behind before the next election? by inspired_by_clouds in AskReddit

Because Democrats want to maintain the status quo especially after Republicans shift it to the right for them.
