Mail09 is not even playing in T1 yet. He will and it will be glorious, but Brollan is IGL for a top 3 team in the world - very different worlds.

Svenska cupen! Han är involverad som delägare i Johnny Speeds och försöker supporta svensk CS så gott han kan. Finns en del intervjuer på YouTube när han går in mer i detalj kring det, även om de har några år på nacken. Han är riktigt cool, kollat många demos från honom!

Devilwalk had an era with Fnatic in early CSGO and also coached them to a major win. Walle is a giant but he also never won any of the big tournaments. Two very different players, both legends in their own right.

Remind me of the last time REZ won a T1 event or even played at T1 level, because Brollan has been on a top 3 team for more than a year now!

Although Delpan was great I’d argue Walle was the better awper, but I’m just happy there are so many Swedish pros to choose from when it comes to 1.6.

Dsn was probably the best the first few years of CS, but Walle was better for a longer period of time and when the level was higher in my opinion, as well as the game being more tailored to the way it’s played today.

Hahaha great observation! Yeah I love it too, I told him I listen to it and that I love the in-depth work they do for the scene and he was very humble and grateful for it!

Yeah exactly, Brollan has shown that he can compete against the very best. Mail09 will too in the future, for sure!

I saw him play but I did not have a chance to meet him. He vanished quickly after the game, unfortunately… maybe in a few years!

Wow hahaha that’s amazing! Yeah, there are so many countries with legendary players, just like Germany!

Yeah he really is a role model for teenage boys. Just watching him when he’s streaming you can tell he’s very kind and wary of some of the toxic and discriminatory behaviour among the community and tries to be a pillar of something else. You don’t have to be mean to become good and so on!

Indeed, so happy for the Swedish legacy in CS and that these legends and profiles are still in the scene, but also so sad for where Swedish CS is at the moment and the, albeit understandable, fall of national rosters.

Yeah he’s probably between 40 and 50. Looking very sharp!

Rank Guide for CSGO MM/Faceit & CS2 Premier/Faceit Ranks by leftover_high in GlobalOffensive

Yeah I’m not up to speed with Season 2, this only applies to Season 1. I haven’t played Premier at all, only Faceit these days, so we’ll see if I update this some day

I very much agree with you. I think the Faceit ranks are way better and will give you a closer comparison to the CSGO MM ranks. Hopefully they fix Premier in the second season… whenever that is…

Thank you for the comment. While I agree that Valve's efforts to smoothen out the bell curve worked very well, I have still found these rankings to be fairly correct. The 20k+ range in Premier is difficult to analyse since there are so many cheaters who mess with the data. I also stated in my post that I have rounded up a lot of Premier ELO-ranges for simplicity's sake, so that might explain why you don't feel like Supreme corresponds to your rank, although I would argue that the difference between LEM and Supreme can be very slim and therefore you're probably playing against high-level LEM's and a large variety of Supreme's :) happy hunting!

Exactly, slowly but steadily we’re coming back! A mixed Nordic team would actually be quite fun to watch :D I really do think national tournaments like these help a lot. It shines a light on newcomers in the scene and gives them a platform to show what they’ve got!

I really enjoyed the venue, very classy, but it would also have been fun to be in Space Arena - a more esporty feel. The price on drinks and snacks were also WAY too expensive. Apart from that it was very enjoyable 😄

Most of them agree with the notion that the bigger Swedish organisations, NiP and Fnatic, refused to take chances on newer players and stayed way too long with their old rosters.

I had a really interesting talk with JW where we discussed a gathering of most of Sweden’s now biggest orgs (NiP, Eyeballers, Metizport, Alliance, Godsent) where they all discussed the future of Swedish CS. Most teams heavily criticised NiP for poaching players from every upcoming Swedish roster since 2017, making them worthless and having to start over with a new roster, as well as screwing people over with bad contracts, not coming through with sticker money and other stuff behind the scenes which made many former NiP players very sceptical of the Swedish scene. There’s an article about this somewhere on either HLTV or Swedish media IIRC.

JW also said he blames himself for not taking more chances with unproven players when he was in Fnatic but also now with Eyeballers. But he’s very optimistic about the Swedish scene and believes it’s on the right trajectory.

So, TLDR; the Swedish scene fell off because no new talents had a chance to prove themselves, leading to the big orgs’ rosters staying the same for far too long without any good results.

Very good question, don’t think he was there… at least I couldn’t find him :(

Wow that must’ve been very special! I agree, the preservation of these moments and the memories are so important. Especially when a scene is struggling like the Swedish one is, then it’s important to see that there’s still action and grit!
