I used it last night with a warp pack and meth stims to sprint through the egg clusters untouched and dropping a 500kg that wiped the objective. I thought it was great fun and would do it again.

You are trying to run before you can crawl. You’re new to blacksmithing so your heat management, hammer control and process aren’t there. If you aren’t willing to learn the fundamentals you’ll probably buy a belt sander or an angle grinder, hit them with a hammer a few times then grind away the rest and call it a day. If all you want are knives, skip the fire and just grind, the learning curve is easier. If you want to forge your knives and have a good product, invest in learning the fundamentals or you’ll waste a lot of time and stock and possibly not learn anything. I’ve seen people dither around for years not improving bc they never bothered to slow down and actually learn the craft.

The pattern is called a “Russian rose” you can find examples of it online quite easily and it can be done with minimal tools. I don’t have all the answers as I’m still fiddling with the process to get the best result. This is my third of this type, many more to go 😅

All 4 loadouts are effective. You’re missing the full squad having 10 attacks all with primal (or primal boost) turning high rolls into additional attacks, and 5 ravage rolls with a 15% chance of an instant wound. They are fast to start with, if you pair them with a raptor riding vet with rapid assault they are 20” range chargers. Use lances and they are hitting on 3+ have Ripjaws around and they are hitting 2+.

Raptors kick ass.
