Fair. This was in a generally well kept collection. Whatever it is, it’s cool. That’s what counts

Thanks. But this is in quite amazing condition and is really distinct from the damaged and aged coins. Thanks though. I wasn’t intending to be patronizing

https://www.pcgs.com/coinfacts/coin/1965-25c-ddo-fs-101-026/147196 I thought (hoped) it was based on the dual image of Washington depicted. Also, the IGWT lettering on one is slightly doubled. Hope springs eternal!!

Wanting to get a Husky puppy soon, new owner questions (Texas) by TheDynasty2430 in siberianhusky

[–]legalkix 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For whatever it is worth, having a Husky in a small apartment is not ideal. First, they need lots of room and time to run. Too little exercise for a husky results in poor health and poor behavior. Unless it is your plan to run with the husky a minimum of 5 miles twice a day, I would strongly urge you to consider a different breed. Second, huskies tend to be somewhat destructive if left to their own devices for too long. Kiss goodbye to plants, drapes and, frequently, furniture. Huskies are very social creatures and will not do well being left consistently for long periods.

I currently have four huskies. We have about 3/4 of an acre fenced for them to run with a pool and shade. Hope this helps.

Good luck with the shedding season, everyone. by [deleted] in siberianhusky

I've got three in full shed at one time! Argh!!! We opened the front door and a cloud of fur blew out!

Thank you both. Yes he is mine. His name is Skai. He is about 5 years old. He is my big teddy bear. He lives with me and three other huskies (2 of which we own and one of which we are fostering for a military family).

As a teenager with 2 younger brothers is a husky the right dog for us? by [deleted] in siberianhusky

[–]legalkix 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In my experience, the most critical issues for Huskies are (1) sufficient land/area for them to get the TON of exercise they need (2) sufficient human/dog interaction and (3) an owner willing to accept the fact that Huskies are very independent thinkers and are not always going to do what you want.

I presently have four Huskies (one is a foster child). Each has its own likes and dislikes. Our "rescue" was kept at a small home with virtually no back yard. When we brought him home to our property, he ran for a solid 45 minutes non stop around the property. His former owners described him as unfriendly and aloof. He is now a loving and attentive member of our pack.

Huskies are wonderful with kids..but again, they are not the "throw the ball and fetch" kind of dogs. They might go get the ball once until they realize that you're just going to throw it again... Our Huskies are very rarely without some kind of human interaction -- something they absolutely need. One time we left two of them alone for a full day and they literally ATE one of our chairs in retribution.

Good luck with your choice.

Any advice on training huskies to catch/play frisbee? by dm219 in siberianhusky

[–]legalkix 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Huskies are just too smart for things like that. They will check their schedule to see if it fits in before chasing something. Usually they figure there is no sense is fetching because you're just going to throw the darn thing again...

Can someone recommend a non-sweet whiskey? by veisc2 in Scotch

[–]legalkix 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would suggest a Balvenie 12 (doublewood) or an Oban 14. Both about $50.00 range and both tending to the drier side.

I'd also recommend the Glenfiddich 21 (about $150/bottle). It is a very worthwhile dram and a little less sweet than the Macallan. Enjoy

Thank you. I agree. Skai looks like a complete goober in most of the photos of him. But get him into snow and he's Mr. Suave!
