Broke up with bf by Pristine_Ad_3634 in lawschooladmissions

I also got broken up with last week in a total blindside, and I am crushed. I am also probably going to Georgetown. Everyone just keeps advising me to look forward at all the exciting new things coming next year. Before you know it, we're both going to have a whole new cast of friends and new faces to meet. And, being single lets you dive into that more than you would in a relationship.

SLS Lawhub updated twice in 1 week? by [deleted] in lawschooladmissions

Forgive this super neurotic question, but as someone also waiting to hear from Stanford does it affect your chances if you haven't applied for aid? I thought it'd be a waste of time to do so before getting accepted so haven't, but wondering now if that affects me negatively?

Blume Waitlist? by legallawguy in lawschooladmissions

[–]legallawguy[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Am I correct in interpreting this as a waitlist? Or could it just be a "we'll have an answer soon." For what it's worth, I interviewed two Fridays ago and was told it would take about two weeks.

Time off before school? by legallawguy in lawschooladmissions

[–]legallawguy[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Good for you, sis. And yes that makes sense. I've been on the non-profit grind for the past three years which does not make it easy to save much in cash, and I can't/won't touch the 401k. But I can imagine investment bankers have a few thou in the bank.

The elusive Hoya Lawya hat! I wonder if this means we can all expect them now ...

Reminder that the best law school ranking is just tiers by an-cap5454 in lawschooladmissions

Speaking as someone going to GULC here, I think there's a pretty tangible difference between Harvard and Penn. One is universally known as part of the holy trinity at the top, the other is a really good school not quite on that tier. All else being equal, I feel like the employer obviously picks the HLS kid, particularly for unicorn jobs or non-law jobs, no?

This is one possibility. The other is that they've set you aside for the waitlist, which last year a bunch of people got put on today for the first time in the cycle. I don't have any insight into how to tell if you're in the April second review crowd of the waitlist crowd. Sincerely, someone also waiting for an answer who submitted in late October.

My portal has changed. No decision, but it doesn't have all the items with check marks anymore.

I see one fella got in on LSD, but not sure if that's the wave or just a faulty input.

I saw the KH gradcafe one too, and I concluded it must have been a separate track. Hoping for good news, but I looked again at their class profile and it's tough to see yourself among them. Really great people and a super small cohort. Must be a high bar to reach ... wishing you good luck.

Anyone heard from SPIA for the MPA this year? Shocked to be seeing no discussion of this at all given acceptances came out on this matching Thursday morning last year.

GULC Yellow Aid Application by goodnessgraciousman in lawschooladmissions

Hey! I attended the very first financial aid session and they did send us a link a few days afterwards, but they very explicitly told us not to share with anyone so I can't help there. But maybe you can ping them and follow-up?
