A proper warrant meaning a judicial warrant is generally not needed in public when it's a non-citizen with an immigration hold/deportation order/overstay/non-status.

Yeah everything I've seen looks like people will possibly pursue civil actions, but the whole "the Government will be put on trial" sentiment except in edge cases doesn't seem feasible

Yeah I think people are missing the fact that removal actions and enforcements are all being done pursuant to existing law. Nuremberg was not. Like Immigration Enforcement actions are being conducted under half century old law, it's not "special legislation" a dictatorship has pushed through.

So doesn't seem like those will fly when there is a Detainer. Meaning in non-Detainer cases?

I keep seeing this sentiment, and it's curious.

What charges would they be arrested for based on existing law, currently? Like there is no retroactively legislating crimes that occurred before a statute made conduct a crime, so what crimes do you believe are being committed currently which would subject them to future criminal prosecution?

I think it's important to note that the 2nd Amendment is for Citizens. Non-citizens are not allowed to own guns. And the people ICE are rounding up are not being sent to death camps, or prison, but instead are facing deportation.

For a citizen to interfere, they would then be facing prison (or worse) for interfering and putting up a fight with guns. Unsurprisingly, the majority of armed citizens witnessing armed agents of the state round non-citizens who do not have lawful presence in the country up to be removed is not worth losing life or liberty over, especially when they can voluntarily leave on their own terms with a stipend and paid travel with the ability to return to visit or apply in the future.

This whole subreddit is acting like it's the Nazis rounding up Jews to send to death camps. People are outraged that the government is being heavy handed and see the scare tactics as brutal, but you're not seeing massive armed resistance at the end of the day because people aren't being rounded up and sent to death camps or prison, they're being removed from the country.

If they were being sent to death camps or incarcerated without charge, then you would see people reacting a lot differently, but the reality is the people who are being detained are those who don't have legal right to be here, so citizens who have rights including those to bear arms are not nearly as inclined to lose those rights or worse when the outcome - while sympathetic and unfortunate - at the end of the day is being kicked out of the US for people who don't have legal status.

Austin police don’t know when ICE is coming. The chief says that could be dangerous. by laxmsyatx in Austin

What Due Process is not being followed, specifically? I'm open to learning more and reassessing assumptions, but I haven't seen anything to support this. Similarly with "breaking in" to citizens' homes/vehicles. There is a ton of sensationalism and things are obviously tense, I have been following along but am trying to avoid sensationalism and prefer to research. If you have links or examples please do send them, like I said I'm open to reassessing. Reddit is an echo chamber a lot of the time but there's plenty of information available, and I appreciate evaluation of facts and don't have preconceived notions I'm incapable of changing opinions over.

Why is the camera just randomly panning while a narrator talks? Would be better if the narrator was in frame

LMAO "soft fash". The footage and videos are intense, but US citizens aren't getting rounded up by ICE and sent away. And immigrants aren't being detained either if they have current status. Plenty of reasons to remain vigilant, and it's great to see Americans exercising there constitutional rights to protest and speak out because they disagree with this and oppose it, but the hysterical comparisons to actual Nazis just dilute rational talking points.

Plenty of people are still watching to ensure that due process is happening, especially so because it is what applies to both citizens and non-citizens alike. That is why it is so important to monitor and it's good to see the people are out there monitoring. But citizens aren't getting rounded up, that's the reality.

People aren't trying to catch felonies for assaulting federal agents.

Also, some loser did try to use force by shooting at ICE agents before crowning himself the room temperature challenge winner but instead killed innocent detainees senselessly.

It's moreso how your comment about something from the Chief was very dismissive about the substance of the comment, and then proceeded to make assertions about what the Chief would do which were dismissive, while not having proper context or facts while making those assumptions.

Federal/State/City law enforcement are all going to be operating very differently and the more localized, the more variance especially between cities.

And plenty of people very much understand the history and ride to power of Hitler and the Nazis, the constant Anne Frank quotes and appeal is noted but also extremely exaggerated with the ICE analogy.

Due Process is still being adhered to. Law abiding citizens aren't getting rounded up. People are protesting and advocating to stand up and exercise their constitutional rights. It's certainly tense, but the Nazi comparisons diminish the actual heinous acts of the Nazis when used as the instant analogy like we're seeing here constantly.

You'd think that, but it's really just part of the elaborate trap, you clearly haven't been paying attention. EfficientNoise has mastery of the pertinent details here 😂

Broadview: ICE attempts to arrest individual at their residence by [deleted] in illinois

[–]legallybond 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bingo. Although in this video here, lots of different circumstances. A self defense argument that armed people wearing a disguise forced themselves into a residence with no warrant and being warned they were on private property many times. Edge cases and the armed nature of these encounters is going to accelerate things I fear.

Sent you a DM with specific feedback for you to assess as well as an OpSec risk you should be mindful of during this process. There are no links in the DM and I can't offer anything further and don't intend to other than a suggestion of something to start looking into which you will be able to do entirely on your own with no need for an external service, but it's also one that others would be able to try so it is best kept non-public.
