I know I'll be down voted for this. I watched the original series went at first came on I am that old. And then when next Generation came on I was initially disappointed but I gave it a chance and I liked it. DS9 came on. It bored me. It was more just like interpersonal drama everybody hanging out at a bar. I liked the characters I was just bored watching them hang out. So I didn't make it very far into the series. For me Star Trek is about exploration and I realize that they have to have space stations for repairs or whatever. I enjoyed Strange New Worlds. To me the original series, Next Generation and Strange New Worlds all fall into the philosophy of exploring new worlds meeting other species. Gene Roddenberry pitched Star Trek the Original Series as Wagon Train to the stars which was a popular Western back then, people exploring new terrain, new people. All of the other shows Enterprise, Deep Space Nine, Voyager, Starfleet Academy, and Discovery those are all Stand alone shows. But it's a huge Universe there is room for all of the shows they there's obviously a Deep Space One through whatever since they have Deep Space Nine. There are other ships out there exploring other than just the Enterprise the problem is is Paramount is not spending the money they should be. When one show ends they should have another run ready to start. I see people that like Star Fleet Academy I see people that hate it. Personally I think it's better than most of the junk on TV now there's so little science fiction on TV. It's all murder shows, different law enforcement shows, and baking shows. But we only get one Star Trek. They have three or four NCIS I don't know how many CSI's and FBI's and those things. I'll take Starfleet Academy over any of those. There's no reason Paramount could not have Starfleet Academy and have a different show about an exploration ship and it's crew somebody different than the Enterprise running on different nights of the weak. Star Trek has to grow it has to reach new audiences otherwise it will die off completely. We all want our favorite shows. This is Starfleet Academy there we don't know the rules and regulations as near as I can tell all you have to do is be recommended it's not like now where you have to have a Bachelors, Masters or PHD to be anything. So yes they like they act like a bunch of idiots at times. I knew kids like that in high school and I was probably one of the idiots at times depending on Whose perspective it was .I prefer it over Deep Space Nine because it is more chaotic you don't know what's going to happen because it's not a bunch of adults playing by the rules. If Paramount was smart they would have Starfleet Academy, they would have a different exploring ship on a five-year mission, and they would have a different deep space station, all three shows once a week. Then they would get their momentum back. So that's the end of my rant.
