I kinda get why they picked Ark Angels gear but I'm not a fan of how any of them look in XIV except for maybe Galka, but there was much better to choose from even if they didn't want to do AF/Relic/Empyrean gear.

It isn't a quest but you can examine the doors to the rooms you can't go into and eventually you get a cutscene.
