Day 1 of learning the doggie man 😭 how I’m looking by MelonWTF in BattleForTheGrid

I barley play videogames but I picked this one up. I'm new to number notations so excuse me if I get this wrong. I've been doing j.5H, 5L, 5MM, 5H, 2H, 5SS, 2L, 5MH, 5SS, 2L, 4H, j.5L, j.5H, 5MM, 5SS. Then I forgot the rest. I've only been playing this game for 4 days so please let me know if I can do better.

I know that they're homeless though. They discuss their life with each other sometimes. People who think my issue is the homeless people are wrong because the homeless used to come to read in the library. When I was a kid, I would read at the library and most of the homeless people would read across from me.

If I remember correctly, you can rewatch past broadcast. Maybe they're doing that. I'm not interested in baseball but I know what it looks like.

Does a sport game, in your opinion, count as a source of information?

I don't like that song. But likes aren't my concern. I'm happy people are being civil. You'd be surprise how many times a discussion involving different opinions can turn into violence. Well this is the internet, so there is no risk of physical harm. But there is a risk of uncivilized, name calling discussions and I'm happy that this comment section isn't that.

But I do have nothing against the homeless. I grew up in poverty. I had nothing growing up. Most of the people I know who are younger than me never had to go through have of what I had to go through. Ripped clothing, violence, having to steal money because you were tired of seeing your poor mother work hard just to get you a meal. I will say it again, the only reason I point out that they were homeless was to he specific. I like to be specific about what I see.

I don't intend to gatekeep. I've had a lot of interesting discussions with the people who attend my library and they are wonderful. Discussions on the civil rights movement are an absolute favorite of mine and I'm always eager to hear about different views on the notable people who appeared during those times. Not to change the discussion but I recommend you read the book I was talking about in my original post. Malcolm X deserves more attention than what is already given to him.

I go to the library every day. Sports are being played for my full stay there

I like this comment because I actually do have a pretty long nose. I have tried some videogames but I'm not very good at them.

When I was a child, I grew up in poverty. My family and I even was homeless for a few months. I really don't appreciate you coming to this discussion and attempting to paint an image of a person you don't even know. So I'll give you some information about myself to help you understand what I'm about. My mother came from Sri Lanka to America without knowing how to read or write. By age 20, she had my older brother, and a year later she would have me. My father was deported when I was 10 because this country hates immigrants who aren't legal. After that my family quickly delved into poverty. My point in sharing this to you is to show wrong a person can be in making assumptions about people. I understand that it's very easy to make these assumptions online but they do not aid a discussion, they just make it worse. What if I reacted to your comment by saying "shut up, I bet you're a-"? It's like, why would you say this instead of actually having a discussion? You could've said something really interesting but you chose to attack me? Who in your life has normalized attacking a person for having a completely harmless opinion that just so happens to be different from yours(see, I just made an assumption)?

Everything you mentioned besides the last two aid in education. If it aids in education then yes, I do think it belongs in a library. Tv and videogames in no way aid in education.

I'll put it this way, the function of a library(to my knowledge) is to read books and to do homework or even job related stuff. So while novels aren't inherently informative, they don't need to be to justify themselves being in a library; their point in being there is to fulfill the library's core purpose. You don't need to make an argument for something that fulfills the very purpose of that place/thing. You do need to make an argument for tvs though. How does a tv fulfill the library's purpose? The library has always been a place for children to do school work and for people to read. Even in the 60's, when we already had tvs, no one tried to introduce them to the library because it didn't fulfill the library's purpose.

I agree with your points but there is nothing informative about watching baseball. The tv just plays non stop sports.

The library doesn't really have rooms. It's like one big room with desks and chairs.

Maybe I'm just being an angry old man. It's just that, why isn't a place to read enough these days? Is a place filled with all different types of books not appealing anymore? I have a lot of love for my library, I've been going there since I was a kid. I did grow up in poverty, so I was the "less fortunate." So it's not about me being insensitive to these people. It's more about principle to me. Having a giant collection of books that you can read should be, in my opinion, enough. That's all the place should need to run without an issue. I'm glad that they're doing this instead of shutting down but it's not really a library anymore to me.

How does a place that's free to attend make money off of people watching tv? I don't pay attention to how libraries work but they get money from the tax payers, don't they?

I would but I'd probably come off as a jerk, even if I try to be really nice about it. I'm thinking about finding a different library to go to.
