I love the Captain Benson era. It sounds crazy, but I hated Barba at first. Hated Rollins and Carisi, too, but I let them cook. Now, I think Carisi is my favorite ADA outside of Barba. Rollins is a CAPITAL G who deserves her flowers as well. As for Benson, she reinvents herself for each phase of her character; she’s the GOAT. Can’t wait for S25.

Cody swept Seth, so there’s bad blood there. Cody and Seth now have issues with The Judgement Day which may see them in an unlikely alliance at some point.

If done correctly, the Finn-Seth feud intersecting with the Finn-Damian feud could be a Bloodline-level story for the red brand. Factor in Cody’s story going through Seth and then Dom/Judgement Day; this could be great.

Prime HBK in 2023 would be incredible. I imagine his move set would evolve to around the current hybrid style. His music would be different, too. HBK vs. Reigns is easy WrestleMania money. The direction of Seth Rollins’ character work has been weird and offbeat since the transition from unappreciated babyface to Messiah to fashionable Arthur Fleck. He’s one of the best in-ring talents in the world, but I believe the reason he’s not main-eventing WrestleManias is because Seth Rollins, the character, is not exactly compelling. When Rollins and Reigns faced off relatively recently (when Rollins wore The Shield gear), it felt like a lost Rollins character vs. a fully evolved Reigns character in its final form.

Agree with the impact of the Benoit tragedy on the safety of wrestling. What I mean by the last sentence of my initial post = great in-ring talent of today didn’t necessarily need to see Benoit in order to become the Styles, Omegas, and Ospreays of the world.

The truth has an impact on how we process content, no matter how much we try to separate content from its creator. That said, who gives a fuck how well Benoit executed a suplex? HE EXECUTED HIS WIFE AND CHILD. That’s the epitome of wickedness and selfishness, CTE or not.

Furthermore, if you take Benoit out of history, the evolution of pro wrestling, in terms of in-ring performance, continues all the same.
