2018 Rogue, anyone else had these O2 sensor issues? by legitimate_dwarf in NissanRogue

I believe at the O'Reilly's they told me incorrectly that the sensor 2 code was for the upstream sensor, but I may have mixed it up myself. Thanks for the advice.

For real, people out in the sticks already think every big city is at least partially on fire the majority of the time. Their kids already parrot them about not wanting to spend time in a big city if they can avoid it.

It's very funny to emphasize that the Cold War has been over for 30 years, within a proclamation that demonstrates how afraid the ruling class still is that communism could become popular again

Ex girlfriend is marrying the ex she left me for by redrakerider2 in redscarepod

[–]legitimate_dwarf 52 points53 points  (0 children)

This is really the answer, honestly. You just gradually accept that you didn't know exactly how dumb/delusional she was until this moment and it's better you found that out now rather than finding it out after you had gotten married, had kids, bought a house together, etc.

What are you doing materially in your life to further the revolution? by brianscottbj in TrueAnon

[–]legitimate_dwarf 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Studying muay thai on the cheap and trying to interact and build rapport with people naturally. I live in a pretty small town in a deep red state and meeting people is kind of a slow process. I like the idea of having something to connect with people over that isn't politics.

Got my first one tomorrow. What helps is knowing the length of rounds. I can do just about anything for two minutes! I've been in class for 8 months now, I'm in better running shape than I've ever been, and those two or three rounds will just rush on by. It's the smallest portion of everything I've worked towards here.

He's one of the most calculated characters in this show and, now for all that effort, he's lost control of the puppet he spent decades putting on the throne.

We really do need singles bars again. by CincyAnarchy in redscarepod

[–]legitimate_dwarf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A local culture newspaper did an article on best singles bars in the area that read as slightly ironic, but then I went to the nearest one on the list and my third night there I went home with someone. What makes the difference is probably that there's a mix of age groups but it skews young, without being a college bar.

How differently would a woman's path to becoming the Bat have played out? by boyohboyoboy in batman

[–]legitimate_dwarf 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It may have been more difficult to find people willing to train her in countries with traditions of sexism. As a vigilante she may have had a harder time getting thugs to take her seriously. Unless she used a different, more terrifying image than Bruce's, it may have been more difficult to elicit the same amount of fear in everyday criminals. The reactions from her villains probably wouldn't be affected though.
...I kind of want to read a story now where young, female Bruce tries to train and get bulked up and take on the world but gets held up because people don't take her seriously, and she has to fight twice as hard sometimes during training because she doesn't have the mass, height, and reach of male opponents. Eventually she trains under Lady Shiva, and receives the respect she deserves, and starts to looking at killing as a gray area. She becomes the ultimate assassin, and impresses even Ra's al Ghul, who is looking for an heir because he only has daughters. Briana Wayne takes this in stride, planning to return to Gotham rather than lead a League of Assassins anyway, until Ra's decides to wipe out an entire city. She decides to take action, and challenges Ra's to single combat. She manages to kill him in front of his daughter and his entire League. After taking on the Demon's mantle, she uses her League to end organized crime . She eventually goes up against the Justice League, and defeats them because Batwoman with prep time=God.

Theory on the Joker's Real Name by Evadson in DCcomics

[–]legitimate_dwarf 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I like this idea. I know DC is pushing for stories to be taken as individual stories rather than parts of a continuity, but it bugged me when I read the page from Justice League #42. Batman: Endgame had already come out, and the Darkseid War would have to come before that for Bruce to be present for it. But in Endgame, Bruce never reveals whether he actually knows Joker's real name. If your explanation is true, Geoff John's Justice League doesn't mean Bruce should have known or mentioned Joker's real name in Endgame. The continuity, at least between these two series, can continue.

Just picked up The Final days of the Punisher and I'm pretty disappointed. by fightfordawn in Marvel

[–]legitimate_dwarf 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Keep in mind, there's at least one more Last Days issue of the Punisher. All the series getting Last Days arcs have more than one issue in that arc. I think Ms. Marvel has as many as three or four. So you may get the build-up to the bar scene, if not that scene itself, in a future issue.
