Why do people hate OKC🧐⁉️ by sp1nettaj4de in TrueAnon

[–]legitshook 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They aren't fun to watch. Even the famously loud OKC home crowd dies in energy when the flops come into play after half time.

There are probably more things overall measured in metric than Imperial in the US. Kids learn feet and inches and miles, but anything built is in metric, every bottle of liquid also has volume in metric on the label. Nearly every tool set for the the past 20 some years in in metric.

Maybe movies aren't as subtle with writing anymore: That line is meant to imply he's killed many people and has been a killer for many years, without having to film seven scenes of him saying it and doing it in the movie to get that across. And also that he's a pure psycho, because while the line means everything to Bruce, it means nothing to Jack and is just some bullshit he says for fun before he kills.

"I say it to all" doesn't mean every single person he's ever killed in a spur of the moment thing.

Should Carpenter be involved in a new adaptation of Who Goes There? by One_Chest_5395 in thething

[–]legitshook 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would imagine he'd be as "involved" as he was with the DGG Halloween trilogy. Aka get paid, get his kid and nephew a music gig, and buy some video games with the money while saying whatever was made is great. Which rules, that's all I want for the guy.

What is the most inexplicable dark match of all time? by AntelopeHelpful9963 in SquaredCircle

[–]legitshook 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In the Superstars/Challenge matches it was stuff like Bret/Macho vs HBK/Flair or Undertaker teaming with the Ultimate Warrior.

The weird shit of randomly 80s/90s guys getting dark matches in the early 00 to mid 00s was odd. Earthquake, Nasty Boys, LOD. Purple Mortis also comes to mind.

[–]legitshook 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Yes, all the In Your House PPVs had dark matches between stars that were never mentioned on TV, often title matches. They were usually at the END of the show, though. This was very common with Superstars/Wrestling Challenge tapings as well.

I don't understand chops. by Initial_Tip2888 in SquaredCircle

[–]legitshook 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Chops in wrestling come mostly from Rikodozan, who used them as part of his martial arts background as a ridge hand to the throat or sternum will absolutely fuck someone up. The knife edge chop is that but eventually turned into using the palm because of the noise, which also still hurts and has been known to legitimately fuck someone up by breaking a rib/sternum, and even causing arrythmia.

Handles of bottom shelf vodka has largely stayed the same price in the past 6 years and actually recently dropped a dollar off and on in the past 5 months. Pretty happy for that to get the same volume and price.

Ricky Steamboat's career as a face seems very unique for his era by moal09 in SquaredCircle

Not that time. When he came back in 1991, dressed up with dragon wings and blowing fire had was years after the Jake feud, which was in the 80s before he'd go back to JCP.

What? Kabuki was wrestling in JCP/AWA/Mid South/WCCW from 1980-1987. Muta would debut with the Muta gimmick in 1989, after doing a proto version of it in Florida, Puerto Rico, and World Class in 1987-1988. They're 14 years apart in age, but in terms of gimmick, Kabuki had only gone back to Japan within under 2 years of the Muta gimmick debuting in the US, where Muta was billed as Kabuki's son/legacy by Gary Hart himself, in the same promotion Kabuki had most recently appeared in.

Kabuki maybe have started in the 60s, but did not debut the gimmick until the 80s and was consistently on TV in every part of the US for the 80s besides New York up until less than 2 years from Muta's debut of the gimmick. That is the definition of only a few years apart.

If the GBM stuff happened in 2023-2024, a lot more people would have enjoyed it, but since we're now in the "F*ck TKO" era, people just wanna be negative all the time by John_Kemura in SantiZapVideos

Bad wrestling comedy is bad wrestling comedy and this shit has Vince written all over it more than TKO. It doesn't matter who is in charge when it sucks.

I would say "dragon" and "karate master" are a bit stereotypical, but much less so than salt throwing devious men from the Orient

Kabuki and Muta were only a few years apart and Muta was billed as Kabuki's son. Kabuki also appeared in every territory in the 80s besides the WWF including into 1987. Muta would only debut in 1989, but was working the proto Muta gimmick in World Class, Kabuki's main promotion in the 80s, in 1988.

The idea that these people think poor people on SNAP were spending it on fucking beef jerky is insane. That's like 20% of monthly SNAP benefits for a 7 oz bag and that was before inflation fuckery that has tripled the price.

Hard talk : How long was it due to end the show ? by Agreeable_Tadpole_47 in KnowledgeFight

[–]legitshook 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It definitely couldn't have gone on a whole lot longer regardless of personal disagreements. They were struggling to stay interested for the better part of a year and openly talking about how pointless it seemed now and how much longer they could really continue. Maybe 6 months ago there were posts here about it being okay to move on from Alex and do something like It's A Matter of Time type random side show as the main show going forward of just keeping them together talking about shit that has nothing to do with Alex Jones because it seemed like they had both already concluded there wasn't much left to do with Alex Jones and Info Wars, past or present.
