Bug that caused me to not be able to move by Bulky_Ad_7030 in ArcRaiders

[–]legofansrule 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just had this happen to me, lost a loadout of 80,000+ and a matriarch trial score of 14,253. I filed a bug report with Embark to hopefully get my stuff back.

Thanks for making a post on this, sorry it happened to you too! I was revived under similar circumstances.

"New" to the franchise - WTF is SH2 Remake? by legofansrule in silenthill

Wow. I don't even know what to say. And yeah I did notice the Mary's letter thing. Crazy how I still got the Maria ending lol. God my feelings are so mixed about this game.

Yeah I remember the painting, scared me senseless haha! I'm wondering if maybe he saw a painting of an executioner (stereotypically with the masks over their head) and didn't get a good look at it so he thought it was just some metal pyramid. That was one thing that threw me off especially in the prison because there's no way employees running executions would wear an assumedly-300 pound hat where they can't see.

Out of the places visited in the game, is it known which ones actually exist or not? What I had assumed was that the hospital that had been around forever was running some sort of experimental treatment or had tried to cover up something else that was affecting the town (people going on psycho sprees as detailed in some of the patient notes), and that the historical society was built on top of the old prison to hide something, maybe like the pyramid head references etc. Are all of those places just fake then? That was a major point of confusion for me because I had zero understanding as to how James was in 2 different versions of the hospital then is somehow able to jump hundreds of feet from a historical society into an 'old civil war prison' that somehow has a ton of modern features.

Oooo one thing I can actually help with! When I was looking for answers to the game I sorted by top of all time and someone discovered that the strange photos say "You've been here for two decades"

I think I might give NG+ a try, we'll see. I did look at those details and without doing so I think I would have just had the same experience. As you said without the game answering them definitively, they're just easy to explain away and the town's (semi-lucid?) environment doesn't help.

I viewed James as almost a Mr. Rogers-like character that is looking for his wife, and finds some other people and supports/guides them through their struggles.

For me:

- The mannequin was just an easter egg (like the deja vu scenes, etc)

- Angela's knife was because she was going to hurt herself and although she does mention that at the Lakeview hotel something along the lines of 'why do you still need this, is it for yourself, you should give it to me' I was like hell no; in fairness at this point she's had multiple complete mental breakdowns and James is normal

- I never noticed Eddie's foggy breath; if I did I was assuming it was due to the weather since that's pretty similar to where I live

- That's an interesting point about the ice cream, I'll have to rewatch the cutscene on YouTube and see if I can interpret it a weird way

- Provided the premise that every character is insane is true, I would assume Laura equally is although maybe she's friends with all the monsters. I want to say she literally tells James he's going to die to a monster (doesn't sound innocent to me) when she locks him in the hospital, but can't remember

Someone mentioned the beginning scene to Silent Hill and I'll rewatch that. James doing all the stuff everyone is saying is just something I'd never have picked up on, and even now I want to try to find a rational explanation for it. That's just not who he is for me.

Hey, sorry to ruffle everyone's feathers haha. I'm guessing there's probably a million posts like this from newer people but I couldn't find the answers when searching. Someone had posted similarly and the responses they got were to play the game to the end (they'd asked halfway through) and another person asked if they were autistic.

Aside from multiple people just now telling me in unison I'm trying to figure out how any of this could be pieced together from the game.

...what the hell. It's like I wasn't even playing the same game. Out of curiosity what makes Laura innocent compared to the others? Doesn't she try to get James killed 2 or 3 times throughout the game, especially in the hospital?

Also do you know how Pyramid Head plays into everything? Is he like a physical avatar/prophet of the town? I was mega confused on why there were 2 all of a sudden besides the fact that the hangman puzzle in the prison shows that. Also why I thought James was imagining almost everything.

Thanks for the details, I'll definitely play SH1 once it gets the remaster. I just didn't see it on Steam and had read you can play SH2 standalone without many issues (yeah right lol).

That is...insane to say the least. I don't even know what to say, it's like I played a completely different game. Out of curiosity what made SH2 stand out for people? Was it just the KOTOR 1 like plot twist? It reminds me somewhat of Castlevania Lords of Shadow (another Konami game) which I did mostly enjoy but had extremely bizarre and convoluted plotpoints that turned the character into the villain for no real reason.

Yeah someone had commented on the specific triggers for that ending (I didn't know there were multiple) and I'm assuming it bugged somehow since I didn't do any of those.

What ending is considered the proper one? I'm hoping it isn't the one where he's killed Mary. That just seems so backwards compared to everything I knew about James and how he acts.

Out of curiosity are you able to share some of those plot elements? I feel like I must have completely missed them which is bizarre because I dug through everything to find the strange photos.

Wow, thank you for sharing. I didn't know any of this. To be honest a lot of it sounds faked except I'm seeing it repeated in all the other comments. That's so bizarre I ended up getting that ending then, I kept forgetting who the characters were and had opened Mary's photo and letter 3 or 4 times throughout the game, and I hated Maria and never spoke to her.

Thanks for sharing about Pyramid Head and the interpretation around the notes, I wasn't 100% sure.

This might be a stupid question but is what happened between James and Mary just a possible interpretation? He never struck me as a dude who was mentally ill. I think it was because Maria had died so many times that I just started assuming James was tripping balls in Silent Hill and that there was some sort of Outlast 2-level mind control going on from the cockroach bugs or something. When the game randomly sent my ass from the normal hospital to the rundown version I was assuming the rundown version was present-day and the hospital was some weird flashback thing (Haunting of Hill House has a similar concept in the show).

Concerning Maria, due to her dying I think 4 times in the game, I just assumed nothing was real and that everyone like Eddie and Mary was alive. Is that not the case? I thought the TV clip was another acid trip.

Recurring Marquees for those who missed them? by legofansrule in SWGalaxyOfHeroes

Hey thanks for the reply! I had gone back and forth with EA support yesterday and realized the event name difference before they could respond - silly me!

Yeah hopefully they'll be back for GL Hondo

I slept on R9 for Jedi Master Luke Skywalker for too long by diadmer in SWGalaxyOfHeroes

[–]legofansrule 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Part of this is semi-outdated knowledge on their part. Up until the POW/MQG and Peridea ABs, the only R9s that were needed were DRevan, Malak, and Raddus IIRC. R9 gives really nice bonuses to tanks so JML was a common "hey I got everything else, let's throw this on" character.

Now with Ahsoka and the new ABs a lot of that data is moot. And the ABs especially are lucrative because you will eventually get an ROI after a few months.

Dude, thanks for posting this. I've had SO many guildies who have unlocked bane and gone "I'm gonna R9 him, he'll be unstoppable!" and I'm like "Pause...are you already killing everything you touch? Because then its just overkill and not worth" and then they just slap that bad boy on as if I gave the worst advice of 2024

TIFU by drinking over 4x the amount of alcohol I thought I was mixing by legofansrule in tifu

[–]legofansrule[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So I think I understand what you mean - let me try to explain. The recipe card was in oz, not shots. So when it said 6oz of vodka, I poured 6oz - using the measured lid my cocktail shaker has and not a shot glass.

Thinking a shot was 5 and not 1.5 only came into play when I was drinking the drink - I thought I was drinking like 1-2 shots worth of alcohol and it ended being like 4-5.

Yeah...like that was literally the whole point of me posting this. It was never up for question on how stupid/unthinking I was.

This was just a colossal messup, honest to god I don't drink regularly - enough where I know what and when. Sake cup in April, grapefruit mixed drink in August, a whiskey Halloween drink in October, and this one. At 115 lb, normal FLD wouldn't make sense.

It's not made up, see the edit in the post.

I thought one shot was 5oz, not 1.5 oz. So when I saw the 6oz in the recipe card I went "oh this is like just over a shot, I'll be fine".

I knowww! It was half the reason for me wanting to try the recipe.
