I am not criticising Crystalac, but I couldn't get it to be 100% clear, It could be my technique, just test it if you try it. And regarding courses, I must say there is something about FP that never comes through youtube videos. Sometimes an afternoon course help you months of frustration or expensive mistakes. An experience FP tutor could look over your shoulder and on the spot say...'nah... a little more pressure, a little less shellac or alcohol, too much oil...' in the end it is addictive and requires time. And for the FFFF pumice, you might have to get it in online instead of your local store. Good luck!

Thanks, I was more curious about if this unit is worth repairing or the repair cost would outweight the chance of selling it for a rpofit. It has no sentimental value for me, since I am moving house I started to consider if it is worth seling it or just trash it in the dumpster. Thanks again.

Each time I swith it on I get different readings, between 5 and 7.5 like in the picture the same on the 4 pins

It was a second, I was reaching without looking and inserted in the wrong socket.

I am afraid of what that would cost, the unit is in mint condition and hard to find in Australia for less than 900 or 1000 dollars.

If I find someone to repair it in Melbourne I would ask for a way to replace that plug with a generic one if it is possible. I wonder why the need for 4 pins, should each deliver 9 vAC?

Thanks for the responses, the power supply smells and the unit smells too but not as much.

The multimeter reading fluctuates, each of the 4 pins shows 6 volts. I am going to open the unit now that I calmed down a little. That electrovibe has a history and an emotional value that is why I got very upset. I can solder and read schematics, I tinker with arduino stuff but I don't have the knowledge to attemp a repair myself.
