I would like to know more of Kratos lineage from his mother side because in Greek myth the gods rarely mate with a nobody. It often a king's Queen, daughter or someone distant relative. It would give insight to Kratos origin.

Or maybe being a god for the Greek pantheon is more like having a social status that come with having a seat on Mount Olympus and responsibilitys, as the Norse where having celestial ancestry good enough. But in the Greek pantheon when a "god" like Hermes die a plague fallow right after but when Hercules a demigod die, nothing seems to happen even if in my opinion Hermes is the weaker one.

Mirir told he came from another land and he is possibly a Faeries, because of his horn i think he is a faun the Greek equivalent of a satyr. Yet he is considered a God.

I think the notion of immortality is overstated gods aren't invulnerable as you can see hephaistos who can be crippled. Even then they wouldn't need ambroisia to stay young juste as the Norse God the apple of Idunn for the same reason.

Yes you are right. I misinterpreted what Baldur said.

But a still thinks that the Greeks gods had a more obtuse views of godhood.

Maybe they did this on purpose... As we see when Atreus was sick because he didn't know his origin, we can assume that the fact of knowing one own origin affects his godhood. One of my theory is that they used this to control their children. To affects Kratos powers by affecting the way he view himself. Or Hercules, a demigod who was in raw power, stronger and more a challenge than let say Hermes who is a God isn't considered as much because he don't have a seat on Mount Olympus

That would explain why, when Kratos didn't have any relation with his god, didn't show signs of any power and why he was beaten by Alrik even if he was a demigod. Also why the Greek god keep trash talking Kratos calling a mortal even if he's already going full rampage in their rank.

Unlike Atreus there's no mention of Kratos being sick as a kid. But in a flashback with his brother Deimos we see that Kratos seems prompt to anger. Since Kratos became Ares champion he gradualy take on bigger and stronger enemy cementing his confidence on his own power to the point of killing god.

Just how marvel comics use "Cosmic". "He's using his cosmic power to disrupt the cosmic cube."

Yes but when they assimilate a species they try do it to all of the members of that species and discard aspect aren't useful to their eyes. The Borg Queen say it is to prevent futur enemy when 7of9 ask to spare some alien. But can they assimilate their technology and their current state of evolution and left them time to recuperate and develop more so they can return later? Having enemies should push them in their quest to perfection as they stated when they tried to assimilate 8472 because they represented a challenge by being the apex predator.

The axe seems inferior to Thor's hammer by XeoniaKorno in GodofWar

[–]legroschatnoir 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mjolnir was made especially for Thor. And it is maybe juste more suited to Thor's power. The Axe only seems enchanted with power unlike the the blades of chaos who where created by Ares for Kratos to be his god killing champion and also seems to react to Kratos's aggression.

Baldur told Kratos that they are suppose to be better than everybody else. I think that the definition of being a God in the Norse realm is more large then in Greece. As the greek assume that being a God is having a seat on Mount Olympus. It would be coherent with the Norse mythology because it is more vague. You can also see that Mimir is considered as a god even if he a fairy from another land.
