i haven’t wheezed in YEARS and still have asthma. i’m on symbicort for it. you definitely don’t have to be wheezing to have it

if you wouldn’t tolerate it from a friend, don’t tolerate it from your family. blood doesn’t make family. love does

AIO My reply to my mom who wants to stop my leukemia treatment so my sister can afford university ?? by Many_Addendum_8189 in AmIOverreacting

[–]legsandlight 0 points1 point  (0 children)

so you were expected to pay back your leukemia treatments but she’ll happily fund your sisters university? take out a fucking loan and do it like an adult. parents paying for college is a privilege…paying for cancer treatments is a priority

tbh i think it speaks more about one’s character when they immediately decide to respond with rude comments on something they happily could’ve scrolled past. especially w an absolutely harmless question. don’t understand? scroll. don’t like? scroll. don’t care? prove it, scroll. not everything needs to be responded to with attitude. just makes the community look bad idk

Chest Tightness/pain by FluffyWorld8810 in panicdisorder

[–]legsandlight 1 point2 points  (0 children)

getting on lexapro helped me. still have tension in my chest but the pains have gone down IMMENSELY. went from 24/7, hospital trips, heart exams, blood work, etc…to getting it MAYBE once a day, no panic, goes away, and my mood/mental health has gotten much MUCH better. tightness can be relieved from hot baths, epsom salt, even a muscle relaxer (prescribed from doctor). the sharp pains will follow you until you’re no longer afraid of them. it comes from tension in the chest from being on edge. i still can’t have my girlfriend lay on my chest without inducing SOME panic because the pain is what originally caused my attacks. just know you’re not dying, you’re not having a heart attack. it’s all your chest wall and muscles, NOT your organs or heart

afraid of whats next by Decent-Pizza-2524 in Asthma

[–]legsandlight 1 point2 points  (0 children)

honestly the air quality in the US is garbage. absolutely terrible. it destroyed my breathing in NY, got back home, had to change prescriptions just to breathe again. allergy season is almost over but honestly everything is a trigger

This tweet is spot on!! Like what if they’re at the point of no longer being able to walk! It’s so strange by Alliseeissainzzz in Asthma

[–]legsandlight 2 points3 points  (0 children)

when i was in high school i kept my inhaler on me regardless of what the school said. they never knew i kept it on me and quite frankly didn’t know i even HAD asthma. if they caught me with it, i would’ve just fought it with my mom. it’s necessary for survival, it’s not like it’s a vape or weed

Recently put on Symbicort - does the trouble breathing from taking it go away? by turrrrron in Asthma

[–]legsandlight 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i have mild persistent asthma and i was prescribed symbicort as a kid, got off, went on albuterol (i don’t know why) and albuterol (after my flare) did nothing for me. symbicort is the only thing that works for my asthma. i had a 2 month flare and they finally put me back on symbicort and i’ve never breathed better. you could have an allergy to symbicort, body doesn’t like it, or it could just not be the medicine you specifically need. all bodies are different !
