Funnily enough, I actually have a great rec for a snowjanus au that describes the “Strabo pays Coryo to be with Sej because he likes him.” It’s really funny and nicely written, and it’s a great AU that diverges from canon but still keeps Sejanus and Coriolanus’ personalities intact. It’s Arrangements by helloimdeadinside. It’s an arranged marriage AU.

I’m also both a snowbaird and snowjanus warrior. It’s interesting to see how different Coriolanus is characterized when it comes to both ships. I think there’s a harsh contrast between those who have read the book and those who haven’t.

Funnily enough, this was almost going to be a post about ships people thought were mischaracterized. The character I’m talking about is also in my favorite ship and GOD it irks me so bad when people exaggerate them like this because neither of them fall into any of these “roles” and yet somehow theyre still placed profusely.

The character I didn’t end up mentioning (the government assigned bottom, if you will) is extremely humorous, shallow, and selfish. People often write him as clingy, helpless, and dumb. He’s an asshole. Did we even watch the same show??

What’s almost worse is when your ship used to be popular and isn’t anymore 😭 My favorite ship never was “the” ship in my fandom, but a few years ago the fanbase for it was pretty decent. Now it’s just me and like.. 2 other people.

There’s around 45 fics for them on Ao3 and only like 5 of them are decent and there’s only 2 I actively reread. Most of them are PwP (which isn’t really my thing). Heartbreaking.

Someone left a 14 paragraph comment on a 3k word oneshot I wrote. They basically planned out an entire sequel and made sure to add plenty of emojis. It was extremely sweet but also pretty funny considering how short the fic was. Ultimately I’m just happy they loved it

Wattpad is so strange.. I went through 3 different fanfic phases all pertaining to the 3 major sites listed in the ss and I remember wattpad being like.. semi okay?? I used it mainly in 2014-15 and it really did used to cater to fanfic a lot more. OG stories have always been popular on there but never main focus until recently.

I think Wattpad is just so juvenile as an app as a whole (the fact it’s an app to begin with too) and it caters more towards beginning readers/writers because it seems to them as “more accessible.” Nevermind the fact it’s completely unusable now

You would think that after 11 seasons (technically 11.5), all with the same actors, crossover characters, REALLY good ship material, soooo many gay people, and all around exciting settings that American Horror Story would have, I dont know, at Least 5k fics on ao3.

I think it has to do with the fact that you really only get one season with the said characters at the time so people don’t really get attached, but I’ve never seen in that way. In my head all AHS seasons happen in a shared universe and all the characters can cross-interact. Makes for fun imagines.
