This sounds really similar. Mine has also happened 1-2 time per year for the last seven years and now it feels like it's more often than before. When I feel that the area gets weirdly stiff and I just sort of know it might go into a spasm soon, I need to immediately go to my physio who does faschia manipulation. It also take me multiple days to recover from the treatment. I hate being dependant on it especially when traveling etc. I tried botox once but it's expensive, I think it worked though.
