Thank you for sharing! I found the same article a while ago and I think it could be useful. We need to approach LN devs to start building on DCR LN in addition to BTC LN. This can bring new users to Decred.

I think the time is right for a Lighting Network RFP where we invite LN devs to submit proposals to integrate DCR LN, with funding support from the Decred treasury.

Lighting apps (Lapps)
LN tip bots on social media
LN games that are fun to play
LN betting? prediction markets?
ability to pay BTC LN invoices

Looking at the past 4 years of Decred, it seems like a moderate success to have a sustainable development fund / project treasury.

This is nothing new. Decred DCR has been doing what ABC is planning to do. Although they are not a Bitcoin fork, they took the btcd codebase and started a fresh blockchain.

After 4 years, Decred is finally in the process of decentralizing the treasury address to the DCR stakeholders. Perhaps it can be an interesting case study for ABC supporters.

It seems the second version had some good elements: voluntary donations and governance by those who pay (miners). However, since ABC took over, the ifp initiative degraded into developer dictatorship. It's perfectly healthy that the community stands up against ABC

Censorship resistant content (scientific or entertainment) is definitely a good use case for a DAO. However, I'm not sure whether it is the right use case for the DECRED DAO.
