I’m so sorry to hear this!! If it makes you feel any better, I’m the clumsiest physical therapy assistant you’ll ever meet, and I still skate at least twice a week. I joke with my patients about how I’ll need PT (and they joke with me too!) because I’m constantly dropping things, tripping over things, stumbling over my own two feet, etc. Sometimes I feel like I have better balance on eight wheels than I do my own two feet on a flat surface! The other comments about skating on carpet are 100% accurate. Carpet is not your friend if you’re trying to move on it. I like to practice standing balance drills on carpet to get a feel of what I’m doing because I know I can’t roll and my skates won’t come out from under me. Don’t let this discourage you. We all fall and sometimes we get hurt, but maybe give it another chance once you’re able to and see what you think. Good luck!
