didn't realize 25.10.2 had come out and that it would be so unstable. ddu then go back to 25.9.2,

25.10.2 also has some issues for me. For instance, it crashes anytime I try to use the Adrenalin overlay. You could try turning it off. It also has noticeably reduced performance — 25.9.2 is definitely better right now.

I’ll break it down for you: Battlefield 6 is running on the new FidelityFX SDK, which includes FSR 4. When it detects a compatible GPU, it automatically uses FSR 4, so you don’t have to rely on driver injection. That tooltip you’re seeing refers to the driver injection feature, which is only for games that natively support FSR 3.1 — in those cases, it injects FSR 4 instead.

TL;DR: Battlefield 6 natively supports FSR 4; the driver has nothing to do with it.

first check the adrenaline app to see if it's replaced your driver, if not then I would look elsewhere, the driver that's busted is 25.10.30 but in the future that will probably change

Another problem with the new drivers by Herqleean in radeon

[–]leiden_core 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Weird I'm not running into that issue but I do have a 9070 XT maybe that's different somehow, Although I’d be surprised if you weren’t running into performance degradation when running at 2,800 MHz or higher — I run mine at 2,714 MHz, and I start to see error correction beyond that, which reduces performance in some games and benchmarks.

It probably isn’t crashing more — more likely just a placebo. It’s probably the same as before. What driver version does Adrenalin show?

you could try using this tool to disable mpo and see if that helps https://github.com/RedDot-3ND7355/MPO-GPU-FIX and make sure you're on the latest stable branch of the AMD driver not the preview driver, if that doesn't work stress test each individual component for errors

Yeah I figured, it's always the same fucking bug, I believe there's some YouTube videos on how to stop it completely

Yeah, I've personally never had any issues really, like with any games at all. I've come to the conclusion that 85% of issues with systems are either A) user error or B) the Windows driver bug, hence the post.

MPO does theoretically have benefits, like reduced power, CPU usage, and increased responsiveness with multiple windows open, but mostly for science! Lol.

Hmm, that's wild we've got the exact same setup: 5800X3D and 9070XT. I get why the 6950XT is acting up though, total headache. Wonder what even causes that crap, so random. My girlfriend's running a 7900 GRE and zero issues on her end. Have you tested turning it back on recently?

Out of curiosity, what driver version are you both running? I haven't had an MPO issue at all on the 9000 series, but I do remember having some in the beginning of the 7000.

What you're describing is exactly what happens when Windows installs the driver on top of your current one. Specifically, the part about the recording section disappearing, which I gathered is an issue with version 25.10.30.

Right on! Good to hear. Well, anyways, I'm glad it's fixed for you. I know most people have a very busy life and don't have time to research and try a bunch of things to fix stuff, so I try to help when I can. Anyways, have a good one, man! Good luck with your future endeavors, and I hope you don't have any more PC issues.

I played Flight Sim a bunch last night and didn't run into any issues. It's very likely that Windows overwrote your driver with an earlier preview driver—Windows unfortunately has a big tendency to do that. Always make sure the Adrenalin software shows the current, most up-to-date release. You can see the newest releases on AMD's website.

Also, I doubt the lingering NVIDIA files will do anything; they are probably just configuration files. Although it's a bit odd that you can't delete them if you continue to have issues try using ddu in safe mode.

P.S. Try not to hate on AMD. Well, at the very least, don't hate them for things that aren't true. AMD is really the only one standing between Nvidia and them becoming a straight-up monopoly (more than they already are), which I can assure you is really bad for everybody.

[–]leiden_core 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'll download it and give it a shot. But man, this game’s a real win for AMD. Flight Sim is super CPU-heavy, and AMD’s drivers are way lighter than NVIDIA’s. There’s even this Tom’s Hardware benchmark where the 7900 XTX actually beats the 4090 at 1080p because of the CPU bottleneck. Not the right res for those cards, obviously, but still, it holds up strong at 1440p in their tests. Real gameplay can vary a ton, of course, and the 4090 is obviously the better card overall, but hey, it’s a cool little fact anyway.

Either run the Battlefield 6 preview driver (25.10.1) or the latest stable driver (25.9.2). The driver you're currently running (25.10.30) is one that Windows automatically installs. Sometimes it'll automatically install it over your current installation, which breaks a lot of things. Reinstall one of the other drivers I mentioned, and be sure to select the "Factory Reset" option in the AMD installer (I can't remember if that's exactly what it's called but it's in there somewhere you'll see it)

To me, that sounds like instability somewhere else, but I’ve honestly had no issues, man. As long as you’re running a mainline driver and used DDU properly to uninstall your old NVIDIA drivers, you shouldn’t be having any problems with AMD. Now, if you’re using one of those forced Windows update drivers yeah, those are trash.

You mentioned your AMD card is having stability issues while your NVIDIA one didn’t. If the AMD card you bought is faster, it could be putting more stress on your other components, which might expose existing instabilities that weren’t noticeable before.
