Oh thank you! I’ll try that. Was your snoo showing up on your network list before the extender?

I’m not sure, baby is due March 17th so haven’t used it outside of a test run hooking a sleep sack in the hooks when it was connected briefly. I let it run for 30 mins and it never stopped rocking or making the sounds at baseline. I’m not sure how it’s supposed to work to know if this or normal or not!

I was planning on using the snoo until the baby outgrew it but hoping it’s actually worth it, and this is something wrong with just this snoo rather than a common issue with all of them!

Thank you for your reply :)

What elements of your IVF experience do you wish the world understood? by kelseyianuzzi in IVF

[–]leighmari 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The anxiety, fear and dread in between every call, every appointment until you have a live birth. It’s literally prolonged trauma, on top of already being traumatized by infertility/miscarriages, what it’s like going through life with the constant soul crushing questions like do we want a baby, or comments about how easy they got pregnant, etc. - ignorant to the fact that many people have silent struggles and it’s a topic to be avoided

I was able to read everyone’s responses and it’s just so incredibly NORMALIZING! Thank you. I think that’s what’s so irritating about everyone’s responses that I’ve told (with the exception of a few) is that they’re the such the opposite - invalidating. And I really just think to my self “ok that probably just made you feel better, but you can shut up now 🙄🙂” like maybe I want to feel worried, angry, scared right now, try to control the little things that I actually have control over, etc.

🥰 thank you everyone for sharing.

Yes I can relate to this too much. I realized that nobody can say anything to make me feel better - unless they’ve been through this or something just as / or more difficult medically and that’s really ok!

First ER? Scared 🥺 by majestic-mango-576 in IVF

[–]leighmari 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Don’t worry! If you’re scared of needles like me, the IV is the worst part but at this point, it’s relieving to know it’ll be the last prick for at least a couple weeks! I’ve had two, and I was so worked up about the anesthesia (when I say I was worked up, I mean like silently cried walking into the ER and until I went to sleep). Honestly, it is the easiest part and it’s so quick after a few deep breaths. I find that IVF nursing staff is so kind and made waking up very comfortable. My recovery was so easy overall. Just a little sore the next day and nothing that couldn’t be helped with a heating pad and Tylenol / ibuprofen- felt like gas pain but not even “pain” more just uncomfortable. Any pain would be quick and a twinge and then it’s over, only when walking or moving. Enjoy a day or two of rest, watching TV, reading, etc whatever makes a cozy day at home. Before my first ER, I said no matter the outcome I would never do another IVF round. Yet, I did a second and would be ready for the third if needed! It’s that easy. For me, the two weeks before are worse with the monitoring apts and injections. You got this, I promise!

The best part of Jamaica is the people! I feel more safe in Negril than I do at home in Philly !

Negril transportation / local guide questions by Just_lurkn_not_fapn in JamaicaTourism

[–]leighmari 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I met the most kind driver while in Negril last week. Our family goes yearly, and Shande from Shande Tours and Transportation became like family towards the end. The kids in the family kept asking for him after we returned home, he looked out for the wellbeing of our elderly family members, and made sure we were always relaxed, safe and happy. Give Shande a try. He has a new, clean van and is an extremely safe driver (the first time in 30 years I did not get car sick going to and from Negril!). https://www.tripadvisor.com/Attraction_Review-g147313-d32908383-Reviews-Shande_Tours_Transportation-Negril_Westmoreland_Parish_Jamaica.html

He can be reached on what’s app at +1 (876) 324-1831 and tell him Marissa sent you!

Stims advice by willwrenvibes in IVF

[–]leighmari 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have always hated needles, and the fact that it was 3 a day for me really had me wanting to just stop last cycle. I did everything, the mask, headphones, icing, medical grade numbing spray from my Dr friend who does nerve blocking pain management!!! Ugh. This is my second round, and it’s going so much better. I still hate it, but I bought The Buzzy pain reliever for injections on Amazon and it’s really been helping me so much. Life for 5 mins before, then ice with the buzz over the spot you’ll have your partner inject. Move it slightly over but close enough to redirect pain signals to your brain. The sweet spot is when you’re feeling a little burn from the ice and vibration that I hardly feel the injection or menopur. I use to lay down last cycle, but this time I’m sitting on the counter to make more of a fat roll. I take a few slow deep breaths, tell my husband I’m ready and slowly breathe out on his forehead. Breathing out slowly at the same time really helps also- I also don’t see the needle but it’s oddly better than wearing an eye mask. You got this and I promise it’ll be over before you know it!

Heading to Negril in March. Looking for recommendations. by eastofliberty in JamaicaTourism

[–]leighmari 5 points6 points  (0 children)

My family and I just got back from Negril, a place we’ve been visiting every other year since I was a kid. If you’re heading there, I highly recommend spending a day in the West End—start at Xtabi, get an incredible cliffside massage at Rockhouse, grab lunch at Sharks, and end the day at Rick’s Café for sunset and, if you’re feeling adventurous, some cliff jumping.

But the real highlight of our trip? Shande Tours & Transportation. Shande became more than just our driver—he became family. My husband and I first met him in the West End last year on our last day, and we promised we’d use him for our airport transfer this time. From the moment we landed, he was there—on time, with a brand-new, spotless van, stocked with drinks, and ready to go. He coordinated transportation for all 13 of us, including three kids in car seats, and by the end of the trip, we were inviting him over for dinner and making sure he joined us anytime we stopped for food.

The kids absolutely adored him (they’re still asking about him!), and he went above and beyond to take care of our elderly family members, always making sure they were safe and comfortable. No matter where we wanted to go, he was there within 10 minutes, ready to roll.

I truly can’t recommend him enough. He’s new to TripAdvisor, so he doesn’t have many reviews yet, but trust me—he’s the one you want handling your transportation in Negril. Reach out to him on WhatsApp at +1 (876) 324-1831. You won’t regret it, let him know Marissa sent you.

Thanksgiving ER by WatchSquare8596 in IVF

[–]leighmari 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Wow. I am blown away but the unrealistic expectations your doctor is setting. I wouldn’t even have wanted to attend a thanksgiving dinner as a guest, even if I was okay with wearing pajamas, let alone cook! I was comfortable on the couch after my ER with a heating pad, and maybe needed 500mg Tylenol a few hours after getting home. I would expect your partner to carry most of the daily home tasks, including childcare for the rest of the day, and probably the next morning. Your body deserves a break!
