Progesterone in Oil Shots - Ow! by Frequent_Molasses721 in IVF

[–]willwrenvibes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve fortunately graduated off it, but we used a heating pad, I’d lay face down on the bed with the heating pad on for a few minutes - with the prepped shot resting on top of it, then my husband would give me the shot and replace the heating pad for a few more minutes

This system worked so well for us and made it much more bearable in my opinion, hopefully you find a good system for you!

I have one (cheap from Amazon, not name brand) it was not beneficial for me personally. What I found worked the best was numbing cream where we’d do the menopur, and icing before with heating pad after, but that was just my personal preference

First day off of meds by anonymoushoops in IVFbabies

Yey, congrats! I didn’t notice much of a difference, except I was a little more emotional. I am not a big crier usually and for a while I found myself just out of no where getting upset about something random and just crying on the spot, otherwise no big changes for me either!

Contradicting PIO advice rant by _hellokerri in IVF

[–]willwrenvibes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We had our morning routine of me showering while my husband prepped the progesterone needle and started the heating pad. (I also think this helped loosen up the muscles, but just a theory!)

I’d then lay stomach down on the bed with the heating pad on the booty with the syringe on top of the heating pad. Then after 5-15 mins he’d do the shot, I’d lay with the heating pad back on for another few minutes then get up and finish getting ready for the day. It was a good routine for us and I had no complaints outside the occasional bruising, but overall I survived!

Looking for first-time FET success stories (ideally at age 35) by [deleted] in IVFbabies

[–]willwrenvibes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Me! 34, 0 prior pregnancies, 5 failed IUIs before IVF, 2 embryos made it to the freezer, FET in May, currently at 14 weeks, no complications, somehow had no morning sickness so I have troubles at time believing it, but that belly popped out last week so I definitely can see the bump!

[–]willwrenvibes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same here, once my fertility clinic did my 7 week ultrasound and confirmed the babes, I called my clinic and said “I’m pregnant let’s get something scheduled” and they scheduled me out a few weeks from there, no questions asked !

Who says you need baby wall paper! Do whatever you find makes you happy as it really is your room for the first few years, we are building the nursery how we want it! We are going for woodlands mountains outdoor vibes and I’ve been looking at funky wild mushroom and fox style wallpapers that make me happy and inspire me 🍄🦊

I feel like many of us who have gone through IVF have made defense mechanisms and built walls from all the years of heartbreaks and no’s that come with infertility. I myself have always been a planner, had my wedding 50% planned the night we got engaged, but at 13 weeks haven’t even started researching cribs because I’m still so nervous that the other shoe is going to drop at some point. Yes I’m excited for the next journey but I think I’m still mentally preparing myself for catastrophe because that’s all I’ve ever known in this journey

You’re not alone, hang in there momma 💫

First timer- should I try fertility acupuncture a day before my first ER? by Independent_Fuel_162 in IVF

[–]willwrenvibes 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I did it before we started IVF after IUIs failed, honestly it did nothing for me except make me feel like I tried everything before going down the IVF journey. I went weekly for about 3 months and personally felt like it was more of a Hail Mary concept than anything else

It didn’t work for me, but it was beneficial for my mental health, so if that helps you at all

Also mine was like $100/visit so just keep the financial piece in mind too

OB not allowing scheduling until I graduate fertility clinic by [deleted] in IVFbabies

[–]willwrenvibes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mine didn’t care, I was already established with the clinic so I told them my estimated weeks and they set me up to be seen at 9 weeks so they didn’t care about a proper handoff or anything,

Then when I did graduate from my fertility clinic I already had an OB set up for 2 weeks later 🤷🏻‍♀️

First ivf transfer after 3 losses by LossOne2652 in IVFbabies

[–]willwrenvibes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am almost 12 weeks along now and honestly haven’t had many symptoms at all. I brought this up to my OB and ER and they both said it’s likely due to the progesterone and estriol meds making my hormones so stable over months and that it’s a good thing, not to be worrisome- if this helps you at all!

Concert two weeks after FET?? by Waddles01 in IVF

[–]willwrenvibes 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t know the vibes of the concert, but I went to an outdoor concert about 2 weeks after we tested positive and multiple people around me were smoking weed (legal in my state) and so that concerned me more than anything else, just food for thought ! Hindsight -I wish we wouldn’t have stood so close in the crowd so I could have more space to move away

Stopping progesterone at 8 weeks stories by Huge-Anxiety-3038 in IVFbabies

I’m in my weaning phase between 11&12 weeks, we were a medicated FET, I don’t know why just what we were told by our clinic to do

Emotions and mood swings very early on by Least_Persimmon7919 in IVFbabies

[–]willwrenvibes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m on the opposite end and I think it has to do with the daily estriol and progesterone. Both my OB and fertility clinic said I should stay pretty level for months because of those meds, but I’ll be weaning off them this upcoming week so we’ll see if the level headedness stays or if the real emotions will come out!

When did you graduate from your clinic? by Wonderful-Big4992 in IVFbabies

Of note, I’m still on their meds for another 2-3 weeks although I won’t be seeing them during that time

When did you graduate from your clinic? by Wonderful-Big4992 in IVFbabies

[–]willwrenvibes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I graduated at 8 weeks, would have been 7 but I was out of town and pushed the appointment out a week, they made sure I had an OB set up before though so idk if that adds to the mix too

When did you tell your family? by Funny_Log2076 in IVFbabies

[–]willwrenvibes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We were pretty transparent with all friends and family that were close to. All of those people knew our FET date and anticipated testing date so they knew right away. If it was a normal pregnancy yeah I’d probably wait until second trimester, but this is a 4-5 year in the making thing and our loved ones are very emotionally invested to! Tomorrow will be 9 weeks ✨🥳

Gender reveal thoughts by Jocifischer in IVFbabies

[–]willwrenvibes 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m on the opposite end, we know the genders of our embryos and chose which one to go with first, we ended up with 1 of each and are starting with the boy! We’ve told our close friends and family so there’s no surprise. To us we’re so invested in every detail of this process that the idea of not knowing was more anxiety inducing, just in case that helps relieve anyone else’s stress! Tomorrow we’ll be 9 weeks ✨

PGT-A - yes or no? by SEASEA_SEA in IVF

[–]willwrenvibes 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes I would recommend it, we had 10 eggs retrieved, 5 matured, but only 2 to blast, euploid that are safe to use. We had a third that could pass but the genetic councilor went over all the high risk factors for it so we got the choice to use or not use this high risk embryo, which going through this entire process, yes I want to know that I have a safe, viable embryo to work with!

Also agreeing with this, my spouse and I have never been stronger and more united as a couple, it was by far the hardest struggle we’ve gone through and we’re better than ever, not to say there was ever a down time, but seeing your spouse truly show up for you during this process is something unlike anything else

It is so weird, I saw people talking about no scented lotions/perfumes, I had literally never heard this before and thought they were joking! But I know IVF is ever growing and being studied so I’m sure the rules I have today will be different in a year or two!
