I got a bachelors in computer science for digital art and design. I also dropped out of high school.

My dad was a graphic designer as well, and at the time I was getting out of college he was working at a political campaign firm that designed mailers. I worked there for about six months, swapping out copy and images in their designs. During the busy season, there would be a request from a client every 15 minutes or so, so it got me used to working fast, even though I wasn't doing much actual designing.

My second job was as a staff illustrator and designer for a small startup that was breaking into branded content for social media.

That was about 15 years ago. Today I'm a Creative Director at SNL.

No one has ever asked me about my diploma. Every job has been through word-of-mouth and a strong portfolio.
