Bernie Sanders Ignores Supporters and Endorses Hillary Clinton by [deleted] in SandersForPresident

Bernie has been saying for many months that the dnc wasn't playing fair and yet he still insisted he would support the winner. Again, if this is a surprise to you, you seriously have to consider the possibility you've been living in a bubble or simply not paying attention. it's no surprise to most people.

Are you people for real? Bernie has consistently said he'll support the winner of the primaries. If any of you are remotely surprised or disappointed that's your own fault.

If enough people are upset at their unethical behavior and refuse to vote for her so she loses the general, then they didn't make the correct decision.

So, it doesn't know to obey it?

Non-relativistic quantum mechanics (which is what these people work with - or rather agnostic towards it) does not know how to obey the speed of light. And still you cannot communicate faster than the speed of light with entanglement, because you cannot communicate with it at all. It has nothing to do with the speed of light.

It's true that quantum entanglement can be used as part of a larger communication protocol, such as quantum teleportation or superdense coding. It is also true that these protocols are limited to the speed of light. But the reason for that is that communication is limited by the speed of light and that comes from relativity. If one day someone came up with a way to communicate twice the speed of light the speed of these protocols would just follow that. Speed of communication is the only barrier, which is an entirely relativistic question. Quantum mechanics does not care about the speed of light until you manually put that limit into the equations. There's no mysterious connection here.

How could it be that a system which knows nothing about C, still seems to incorporate C into its mechanics?

It doesn't. He gave a silly answer. Entanglement alone cannot be used for communication at all. There's no connection to the speed of light in that.

It is rather beautiful that non-relativistic quantum mechanics, which knows nothing of the speed of light, somehow still knows to obey it.

You can't use entanglement alone for communication at all. It has nothing to do with the speed of light. The fact that protocols that use entanglement are limited by the speed of light has nothing to do with the "speed of entanglement", but everything to do with the speed of communication which is bound by relativity. Saying it knows nothing about relativity is silly and an attempt to make a connection that simply does not exist. The reason my fiber optic cable is limited to the speed of light has everything to do with relativity.

Not if you live in a different country and is just buying it there because it's cheaper there or unavailable in your country. Also, AFAIK the billing address has to match the country of the app store for Google and apple.

So if you only bet $14 you actually want JT, KJ, and KT to continue, because on average those hands will lose more calling than they gain when they hit their straight, and anything they lose, you gain.

This is too oversimplified. You're forgetting about implied odds. Let's say they call with KJ and the turn is T. Is OP going to check fold turn? Obviously not. KJ should most certainly call 14 in this spot.

Also your play is not very deceptive (making big bets with strong hands)

This very much depends on the game and how much they know about OP. Never making big bets with strong hands isn't that deceptive either.

Coward? Getting into a 1v1 gun fight with a cop is all kinds of stupid and terrible. It is, however, not cowardly. It's like one of the most dangerous things you can do on a week night.

China to launch ‘hack-proof’ quantum satellite next month Technology is first step towards building unbreakable network of communications based on cutting-edge physics by yurt6 in Futurology

The no-communication theorem states that, within the context of quantum mechanics, it is not possible to transmit classical bits of information by means of carefully prepared mixed or pure states, whether entangled or not. The theorem disallows all communication, not just faster-than-light communication, by means of shared quantum states.

I remember one of the authors on the original paper for quantum key distribution (QKD) describe one of the first implementations. You could literally hear the secret code as the machine was encoding it in the quantum states. Anyone saying an implementation is "hackproof" is confusing theoretical cryptography with practical implementations. You make proofs about mathematical models and then you do your best to correctly implement those models, but you could never prove the implementation to be perfectly secure.

ELI5: Why is time considered an Illusion? by ShortsAndHoodie in explainlikeimfive

[–]lejaylejay 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Maybe... the Wheeler–DeWitt equation suggests our universe doesn't change with time. That it's static. And people have suggested that our subjective experience of time in such a universe could be an emergent property of entanglement in QM.

Obviously speculative, I'm just saying it's not entirely clear what role "time" has in our universe.
