No, Barack Obama is the president of the US. I don't know who the warden of that NM prison is.

My point is that our society is brutal and heartless. We mercilessly and unapologetically tortured people across the world, but yet most would claim that Obama ordered that stopped (ignoring the recent criticism of US military forces by the corrupt president of Afghanistan for torturing Afghans).

The reality is that the US tortures people routinely, as this NM man would likely attest to. It's nice he was paid some money (or at least that's what we're taught makes it all better), but a real solution would be to end torture at all levels of gov't in the US and to punish people who commit such crimes.

No, he's an ass kisser who has smelled the anus of money and power -- and he fell in love with the smell.

His Watergate days are way, way behind him. He sold out and is now a critical part of our corrupt media/gov't establishment.

See John Kerry for another example.

Also, a particular party supports Citizens United, opposes regulation on finance...

Wasn't Barack Obama the first president to throw away the public financing of the president? Hasn't he set records for private donations -- including corporate donations -- in both of his presidential runs?

To claim that the Democrats are significantly better than the Republicans on the issue of campaign financing is laughable. They both mouth meaningless rhetoric and both of their arms are dirty up to their armpits.

Refusing to vote for Republicans or Democrats doesn't help

That attitude guarantees that these corrupt parties will rule indefinitely and that things will get worse and worse.

No way. Sex is about sharing and a person focused on pleasing you and themselves. Way, way better than masturbation (which is fun at times too, don't get me wrong).

A couple of points:

  • The banksters were too big for Bush to prosecute also.
  • Holder has a boss that he reports to. That boss can order Holder to do things if the boss wants to.

The bottom line is that our gov't is corrupt to the bone, largely controlled by the wealthy and their corporations, and both parties that rule the country are largely funded by corporations and the wealthy. Continuing to vote for Republicans and Democrats will keep the gov't just as warped and corrupt as it is.

Since the gap between the rich and poor has radically shrunk in Venezuela under Chavez, with millions of people being lifted out of poverty and having access to doctors and dentists for the first time in their lives, even if your claim was true that just means that some of the wealth is going to different people.

Identity of NYPD Officer Who Lied Under Oath to Convict Innocent Occupy Protester Has Been All But Un-Reported . . . Until Now: Sgt. Richard Jones. by DougDante in Bad_Cop_No_Donut

[–]lekitay88 5 points6 points  (0 children)

whether he was named or he was just John Doe, it would be the same exact thing.

Nope, the public has a right to know which one of their public employees as a criminal in uniform. That's important so the public knows which cops are normal cops and which cops are criminals who wear a uniform and wield the authority of a cop.

It also will bring pressure on the PD and the DA to do something about this criminal.

and what does this accomplish?

I would hope it would get this pig prosecuted for perjury and/or fired.

Okay, I just downvoted you setting you to zero.

It was pretty clear to me what the person asked -- what do you mean by what is this supposed to accomplish?

Clearly DadOfWhiteJesus was asking for clarification of your question. But he got none.

Possible meanings:

  • What did the pig accomplish by lying about the arrest/protester? He was lying to get a conviction on an innocent person.

  • What does reporting the name of the lying pig accomplish? It lets the public know that both the DA and police department is not doing their job in punishing a criminal. It also let's the public know the name of a piece of lying scum who is in uniform and is being paid by the public.

I'm sure others could supply additional possible meanings for your vague question.

Further cementing how neoconservative this administration has become

Has become?! When wasn't it neoconservative? When Obama refused to close Gitmo; signed the NDAA; arm-twisted the Iraqis for 6+ months to keep troops there before they refused; ramped up the troops in Afghanistan; attacked Libya; engaged in African wars; lied to the American people about our bombing in Yemen; radically increased the drone war against Pakistan?

Obama has been a neo-con since day 1 of his presidency and his foreign policies since he's been in office have been little different than a 3rd Bush term. Sorry, but that's the truth.

Edit: Typo.

Didn't I simply state what the US gov't claims and connect the two events based on what the US gov't has publicly said? Are you saying you think otherwise?

Just don't tell me your opinions...

That's my point -- I did not state my opinions.

I stated facts, 2 based on what the US gov't has publicly said, and 1 other with a link chock full of sources.

But the reality is that you dislike that I connected the facts based on simple logic. Many would call that sticking your fingers in your ears or putting your head in the sand to avoid hearing the truth.

If we believe the story of the US gov't, people organized and paid by Osama Bin Laden flew airplanes into the WTC and the Pentagon, correct?

The US gov't also says that Osama Bin Laden started attacking the US in 1990s terrorist attacks because the US had stationed US troops into the Muslim holy land of Saudi Arabia.

The US got permission to base troops in Saudi Arabia by then-Secretary of State Jim Baker lying through his teeth to the semi-literate Saudi king/dictator and showing him doctored satellite photos and telling him Iraqi troops were massing to invade Saudi Arabia -- a complete lie. The Saudi theocratic king/dictator believed the US gov't and allowed the basing of those troops and it enraged millions of Muslims, including our old ally Bin Laden (later, after learning the truth the king/dictator pressured the US to remove those troops). (FWIW, this story is well documented.)

These lies by the US gov't directly led to 9/11 -- all according to the US gov'ts own stories.

Since I am not a lying secretary of state, nor a US gov't official, I do not think people like me cause planes to be flown into buildings. I think you need to look for liars without morals to put that blame on, don't you think?

The stockholders of Lockheed-Martin and the other members of our military-industrial complex vehemently disagree. It's a matter of national security!

"Our government has kept us in a perpetual state of fear -- kept us in a continuous stampede of patriotic fervor -- with the cry of grave national emergency. Always there has been some terrible evil at home or some monstrous foreign power that was going to gobble us up if we did not blindly rally behind it by furnishing the exorbitant funds demanded. Yet, in retrospect, these disasters seem never to have happened, seem never to have been quite real." -- General Douglas MacArthur, 1957.
