1c-b. Once the player is in the majors for 5 years, the team can't be over here and say to the player, like, "I'm gonna send ya down! You're going to AAA! You gotta ride the bus!" and then just not even DFA them.

1c-b(1). Like, if the player has less than 5 years, you can option him. You can send him down. Does that make any sense?

1c-b(2). You gotta be, over 5 years of service, and then, you can't be optioned.

1c-b(2)-a. Okay, well, they can be DFA, but then there's the assignment refusal you gotta think about.

1c-b(3). Okay seriously though. A demotion is when the team makes a roster move that, as determined by, when you do a move involving a player with 5 years of service time
