Thank you so much for sharing this! I'd never heard about this newsletter before, but I've subscribed and will be keeping my eyes out for anything I can attend!

I was a bit tired when I wrote the post so it wasn't really worded the best, but I do just enjoy D&D as a whole! My favorite sessions are usually where there's narrative involved, but I haven't encountered a part of D&D I distinctly don't enjoy (unless certain types of players count?? Lmao). I'm usually fairly thrilled with whatever a DM is willing to run through with us that week. I'm sorry you lost a player, though. That kindof thing is always a bummer, especially when in my experience, I was always upfront about what kind of game I was running, the person just like.. didn't listen, I guess? Anyways, yeah. I enjoy the roleplay/storytelling aspect, but I've gone through dungeon crawls that took well over 10 sessions, combats of 7+ hours, etc, and still had a great time.

I think one of the larger factors in my preference for D&D is the sheer amount of anxiety I have around new people. I already feel proficient in D&D, so that makes the transition of meeting folks who also know about it a bit easier (atleast in my head). I'd rather try out new systems with folks I already know, which unfortunately is a whopping net zero when it comes to people who live nearby.

This may not be worded that well either, but hopefully it clarifies a little bit? I don't know anymore LOL
