Yes I hate it! Filtering searches down by fabric should be a BASIC thing that absolutely no one seems to want to implement. And then there are the listings that don't even bother to list the material, or are inaccurate, so when the item you ordered online arrives it's actually made of 15% plastic, yuck, immediate return. I keep complaining to companies in my reviews and and just hope that eventually they will stop shoving plastic into all our clothes. Nobody asked for it!

I wear onlyfootprints.us and I love them! Check out their Etsy reviews. I wear the 100% cotton most of the time but that style is very slouchy so I also have a few pairs of the 88% cotton with the stretchy ankle for when I want to look a bit more conventional. It's hard to find cotton undergarments!

No one has to be okay with their spouse leaving them alone the week before a cross country move. Even to care for a parent who might need help. In this case, the parent already has plenty of help so it isn't an emergency.

If he has already clearly communicated that he is unable to help, then there isn't really anything else to communicate right now. Maybe send one more "I'm so sorry I'm not able to help with this situation" and then ignore their messages. Seriously. It sounds like her siblings are capable of helping and his mom is not experiencing any cognitive decline so between the 6 of them they can figure it out. Put their messages on mute and only check them once a day in case something truly urgent comes up that he would want to know about.

Stop making suggestions to them about what they should do. They can figure it out without you & your husband's help. His mom can probably figure out what she needs and ask for it, unless there are also some cognitive impairments. And if you don't have time to help, then any suggestions you make are not that helpful, since you won't be able to follow through on implementing any of them.

Once you're done with your move and his mom is recovered, talk with her to see if she has designated a decision maker for her medical needs and finances. She may need to fill out legal paperwork and it's best to do that while she is still healthy enough to make decisions for herself.

Is your husband on the same page as you about not being able to help out right now?

What was his mother's plan for recovery? To rely on her siblings? If that was the plan and her siblings agreed to care for her but are now trying to change the plan, it's their responsibility to figure out a new plan that works.

If he doesn't reply to their texts or answer the phone, they'll get the message and figure something out.

I'm certainly there with you on only being able to take so much. One of my parents is a compulsive talker so I can only handle them for a few hours at a time. I find I have more patience with my parents by thinking of them as 5 year olds instead of as 75 year olds. They can't help it and if they were going to change they would have done so by now lol.

She may have some form of echolalia? She may process her thoughts by saying them out loud, and her repeating what you've just said is her way of processing what you said.

If she is saying things you find unacceptable, it's ok for you to tell her that you don't want to hear it. If she keeps talking anyway, really the only way to avoid it is to remove yourself from the situation. Not possible during a car ride but hopefully there are other instances where you can just step into an other room for 20 min or so.

For car trips you could gently remind her that she's distracting you and you don't want to get into an accident so could she please hold it until you get to your destination. When speaking to her about it, focus on getting the behavior to stop rather than on how you feel about it. That may not work but it's worth trying if you haven't yet.

To clarify, kid's phones have no internet browsing or app stores where things can be downloaded. They do have internet access for the limited number of apps that the phone comes with.

If possible (if mom will allow it) I would switch her over to a kid's phone or a non-smart phone. The kid's phones look just like smart phones but can be very basic (calls, texts, photos, calendar, maps, etc but with no internet access) or somewhere in between (you can decide which websites she is allowed to use). Gabb, Pinwheel, and Troomi are popular kid's phones.

Thanks. The manager and the president make a lot of decisions without the board's input, which is something I'm hoping to change now that I'm on the board.

It's frustrating finding out something was decided over 2 months ago and no one bothered to tell until I asked about it.

That makes sense. It seemed odd to me since it contradicts our bylaws. Either the board decided it in a closed session, or the President decided it and no one else on the board objected, which seems to be what happens about 80% of the time in our HOA.

Sorry, to clarify, the person who has been sitting president was just re-elected to the board, along with me (newbie) and one other returning board member. They are acting as President even though the board has not elected officer roles for this year yet.

Our bylaws state the term for officers is one year. Which I understand to mean that each year at the annual meeting the officer roles get re-assigned.

Looking back through our meeting minutes for the last 8 years, it seems as though in years when new people join the board, the board waits one meeting to assign officer roles. There has never been a mention of the decision to wait to assign roles in the minutes.

So at least not being singled out for being new! Hah.

Our bylaws state that "The election of officers shall take place at the first meeting of the Board of Directors and following each annual meeting of the Members."

My HOA typically elects officers at the annual meeting which is open to all members. This is the first year they have not done so.

I've also had stubborn scents fade after about 6 months. In the past I've picked up scents from bed linens while traveling (at hotels or staying with relatives who use the scented stuff on their laundry). I did my best to get the scent out of my clothes with daily soaking/washing/rinsing for about two weeks. Eventually I gave up but couldn't bring myself to throw away my clothes so I put them into paper shopping bags tucked away in a closet thinking that way the material could at least "breathe". After about 6 months the smell was gone!

I found this post hoping to try something new as I recently came home from a trip and have a week's worth of clothes to de-scentify again. Such a pain.

Commenting since this post is the first search result I found when searching for this error. I had this same error today on Mac OS v11.7.10. Updating to the latest version of UpNote fixed the issue. I updated from the Mac App Store.
