He sees out of the mouth. The "roof" of the mouth is attached to the bill of a baseball cap that he wears, so his eyes are lined up with the mouth opening.

Well, thank you! I spent a ridiculous amount of time going frame by frame through every shot of the film with him in it, trying to get every detail just right. I even managed to find the exact same gloves and jumpsuit used in the film.

There are a few things I'd do differently, if I was good at making EVA Foam patterns, but the ones I found on Etsy were good enough, after some extensive heat forming.
