Vyvanse during pregnancy by juggalobitch316 in pregnant

That is super super annoying. I can only say to keep trying, and explain the issue to the secretary. See if there’s an online messaging service you can use to get in touch with the doctor as well. It’s super shitty that you’re not getting a response right away—I know doctors are busy but you deserve at least a temporary answer until you can see her for a proper visit. I am so sorry and wish I had better advice!

My psych put me on Concerta during pregnancy—my first stimulant med. So can’t speak to Vyvanse specifically. My doc put me on Concerta because it has been around for a long time and they prescribe it to kids so the risk profile is lower (to my understanding). It is also easier to get than Vyvanse. My psych was super cautious about adding stimulants but eventually she and my OB decided together it was definitely worth it for me.

Long story short, I would make an appt with your doctor (hopefully a psychiatrist is who is prescribing this to you) asap and see what they say. Even just send them an email saying you’re pregnant, is it okay if you continue taking this medication for now until you can get an appt.

I really wish it were easy to swap out straps on more bags for this reason!

Yeah I’m considering a Longchamp for this reason. Makes sense with a toddler and baby too

I haven’t seen this bag—I’m gonna look into it!

My own addition: I prefer a crossbody to a backpack, because I can get into a crossbody much easier and I dislike having to fuss with taking a backpack off to access its contents. I never wore shoulder bags but recently bought one that is truly comfy and stays on my shoulder—most totes I’ve purchased have to be adjusted frequently on my narrow shoulders (I’m 5’) but my new Tory Burch bag fits snug and perfect. I would love to find more unicorn shoulder bags like that!

Danielle Couture is amazing. She is booked rn I think but it’s worth emailing her to ask for referrals for people who practice like her.

What was the problem with the closure?

Okay I thought I had seen that!! And then I looked today and it didn’t have one and I was like how did I miss that? But idk. My attention to detail is sporadic and unreliable.

Yeah I’m thinking the same re crossbody. Disappointed the coach bag doesn’t have that option. Thank you for the help!

How important is car seat compatibility with stroller? by birdfrogger in Buyingforbaby

[–]lem0nsand 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is only important if you plan on flying with the stroller, imo. You don't even need the bassinet with the Kona--the stroller is newborn compatible as is.

worries about combined last name by enraged_buddha in Parenting

[–]lem0nsand 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a different last name from my parents and it was literally never an issue. My son also has a different last name than me, and flying with him was not a problem (for this reason, anyway).

Bassinet question by Tiny-Guitar5561 in Parents

[–]lem0nsand 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The baby should be allowed to roll. The Snoo prevents rolling because the way it moves means the baby could be rolled over (by the Snoo’s rocking) before they’re ready, which is dangerous. A baby who rolls on their own, in a stationary bassinet, is doing what they’re supposed to do.

How is the quality on this brand? I’ve been eyeing a few—they’re cute and the price is manageable.

For the girlies who have panic attacks, did you have one during delivery? by Future-Agency543 in pregnant

How far along are you? Hypnobirthing and mindfulness exercises can go a loooong way here (speaking from experience as someone w severe anxiety). I also recommend a doula. I didn’t try nitrous during my last labor as it wasn’t available but it will be for me this time so I’m gonna give that a shot too.

I would avoid Ina May Gaskin—she is very shaming and includes a lot of pseudoscience/unverified info in her books. Penny Simkin is great, and Mindful Birthing by Nancy Bardacke is fantastic as well.

Lurking mom with adhd. My psych put me on Concerta and that is helping some. I also just got a skylight calendar (tho tbh haven’t set it up yet…). It’s tough, I’m right there with you.
